Hey guys you should look in to getting some coiled leashes so you dont get so much drag off those long leggies.. Balin do a good one and i just seen a better one from pro lite. If you go for the balin then try to get the straight part of the leggie shorter as the one they sell of the shelf is a tad to long still for a 14ft board but good for a 17ft board. One more tip is to put the leggie on the leg that stays at the front of the board so when you step back to surf a runner your leg rope does not drag!!

Belly was flying along no steering dramas meant he had to stop and wait for me as I flopped on and off the board.

Was fun about the best route in Perth for a ssw wind IMHO, nice length at about 12k took us 80mins with stops for photos, watching dolphins and me falling off.

Cheers for the advice mate I was planning on getting a coil leash but there not really easy to come by in perth...Im going to email Balin and try get one direct...

Yeh the run was really fun and this time no steering troubles as hilly said .. And also like hilly said i think this is the best run metro for sure..

Hopefully we have a few more takers next time.. It wont be mothers day so that should help...

Hey Belly,

It's really good to see that board in the water again. She really likes it out there and the bigger the better for that one.

I know you will take good care of her. Keep sending us posts of your runs. If you take some video footage we might be able to offer any additional hints on how to get the most out of your new toy. Try get from side on with the main focus on the front half of the board.

Cheers - Mike

Hey Belly,

I rang Balin direct last week (number's on their website: www.balin.com.au/) and ordered one of their coiled legropes, paid for it over the phone & got it two days later in the mail. Great service & the leash is just what I was after.

Now I just can't wait to get my board which should arrive tomorrow from the Sunshine Coast (2nd hand SIC F16). Southerlies are due to hit Wednesday for the rest of the week, hopefully they'll hang around until Sat so I can get a good downwinder in?

You can see how well the Balin half coiled half straight SUP leash works in this vid of Pete on his Naish 14.

The early ones were a bit long but the new ones have 1 meter (40") of straight and it seems just perfect for my 14' and 17' Glides.. and most other boards.
