I'm hoping to get out for a paddle sometime wednesday. Anyone else keen?
Looks like southerly wind allday, perhaps a downwinder somewhere along the coast.

By Google earth its 11km.
Good choice as theres pubs at both ends.
I'm ok with that distance. Depends on whoever wants to come and their board size.

I'm keen to try a longer one. If I can't make 11km there's no chance of me finishing 24km!!
I'll probably be on the 11'2" as I need to return the pin before christmas.

How convenient I think I have a "meeting" at 2.30 and wouldn't you know it, it is in Jandakot so i will have to be "out of the office for at least 2 hours".

To save the dramas of Sunday should we meet at the North end of Scabs at 2.30?

How about at the ampitheatre which is where the rotto race finishes at 2:30?
Saw Rez this morning paddling down the coast and she said she might also come along.

Logistics.
Stew can I drop my boards off at your place around 1.45.
I can then meet up with the crew at Scarbs at 2.30. Bring my car back with whoever and their boards to Cott and meet you there.
Then if someone can drop us back to Cott after.
Sound ok?

Bummer can't make 2.30! Forgot that our family is doing Christmas today! Was looking forward to doing it too.

Hey Adam it took me 2 hours on the 9fter yesterday!!!! Ha ha ha. Under estimated that one! It's roughly a 10km round trip from Hillarys to Trigg and back. I did the spedo thing in my car after the paddle. It definately would have been quicker if the wind had come in to help me on the way back

Have a good paddle today guys and count me in for the next one!

Thats a good length paddle when you are getting no wind help at all.

Luke was on a 12' Glide, Stuwart, Cam, and myself were on 11'2" Starboards. Not sure what the wind was but probably around the 25knott mark with plenty of swell also. The only problem we all found on the 11'2" was the board often spinning out. Perhaps this is a fin issue and a whole new thread. Two of us had the standard drake fin that comes with the board and one had this winged fin like off Australia 2.
Sorry no pics, we were all just trying to stay upright!!
I'm glad I did it on the 11'2" and not the pin in those conditions.

Things learnt from yesterdays downwinder
#1 Don't go paintballing before a 13.5km downwinder.
#2 Make sure the car at the finish has tie downs in it.
#3 25knt winds can blow a Glide along the beach.
#4 Check what the water in the camelbak tastes like before leaving beach

All very valuable lessons Luke.
Sorry I had to run off, got into a bit of trouble for being late but it was well worth it.

I have a brand new never been used Drake 9" SUP fin you can use next time Hawkie. But I think its more for flat water than for downwinders? Call me if you want it.

Cheers Greenie.
Did you go for a windsurf yesterday?
I kept a look out for you around scarbs in case you headed out around there.

I haven't been able to make any of these paddles, busy time of the year. Boxing day looks good and I will proberly be into it. Might try Scab's to Hillarys or the MAAC club. Any other takers?
