Hey Mel - talk about an action woman!
Have you tried using one of those "above the knee" leg straps? If this will work for your leg then you will free up your front foot/leg a lot. Getting the legrope out of your way will improve your surfing significantly.
Great to see you having a go at the event. I think I only just beat you on the paddle race!
Very ugly compound dislocation of the ankle 10 years ago (twisted the foot off the end of my leg - spagetti hanging out the hole - very ugly sight!!!!!).
Biggest problem with that leg though is the lack of an anterior cruciate in the right knee.

PS - it also freaked out some of the medical staff at the hospital!

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit???? I didn't know there was a leggy that you could put above the knee??? That would certainly be worth a try. Gonna see if my current one will go around there next surf (tomorrow - have to work today
