The Race will be starting at 1pm at Newport surf club and heading straight out for 700 metres then turning right around a can and straight lining it to Fishermans beach.
Paddleboards and SUPS will get a 10 minute start on the other craft so you will have clean water to set up your line for the buoy turn.
For those that arent familiar with the course, the only thing to watch out for is the Reef at Brownwater, dont come in too close to the shore nearing the finish as you could get knocked off within sight of the line.
Remember its a race so go as hard as you can but assistance anyone who is in need of help.
There will be plenty of I.R.B.'s along the course if you need assistance signal them with you paddle above your head.
The presentation will be held at Newport Surf club with literally thousands of $$ worth of prizes, INCLUDING 3 $100.00 VOUCHERS FROM Sam at WIND SURF AND SNOW.drawn from your race number, and you have to be present to claim your prize.

my first time paddling up north (great spot!) and open ocean race, was good fun, even though I came in last..

Not sure of exact times but Travis had a good gap on the 4 of us who were all pretty close.
And if you were wondering, Sam and myself were trying out the new Starboards. Sam was on the 14ft Ace and I was on the 12'6 Race. Both went unreal.
Well done guys, will have to get to one of these races one day, will be easier when the AFL season is over

Cheers Dylan. Shame about the models not turning up as we could have got some sexy girl pics on the isups. I would have helped you pump them up (the isups that is). Yeh, Travis is genuine cool guy and a wonderful ambassador for the sport as well as for you guys at C4.
