Im heading to NZ in a coupla weeks, not taking
board or gear this trip but i would like to do a "RECKY".
for future trips.
Just wondering where the best breaks are etc. I will have
a rental so no 4WD treks please.

Go where the swell is Raglan Taranaki on the west coast , eastcoast come and see us in Gisborne .

Pics are Taranki south last month

But definitely the best spot to hit if conditions are looking good. Check out this informative guide

Also these days the surf reports websites give pretty reasonable predictions 3 to 5 days going forward. Wind is your enemy in NZ and as its an island with high mountains things can change very quickly so keep an eye on things and you should be sweet. These guys are pretty good usually. TB should be able to advise which one is best. Enjoy.

I had epic waves right up north at ship wreck bay when I was there a few months ago !! Needs a big swell though and alot of sweep!!
