Ocean Addicts Power of the Paddle Surf Race and the Power of the Paddle Surf Comps has opened for entry registrations. Don't miss out. Dogman and PT are on the mic and there is up to $1000 prize money in both the open divisions.

Unlimited places in the races though very limited places in the 2 surf comps. First in gets the spots.
Come and try the race. It has more twists then the amazing race. Also be part of the first ever surf comp that has a division specifically designated to 10' plus surf boards judged old school.

Though we can have unlimited entries for the race divisions we do have limited entries in both the open and 10 foot surf board class surf competitions. First in gets the spots. This is why I am giving you the heads up today to register tomorrow. 30 spots in Open Surf Men and women surf together but are judged seperate. 24 Spots in 10' + Mens and 12 spotss in 10' + Womens

In the surf comps this is a first for Australia. We are going to have a 10' plus surf comp. Judged in heats, repos, semi's and finals. Old school surfing style.

We also have the open comp which is an expression session from most progressive move, best wave, best wipeout, best dishpan etc etc. Details at the event registration at Surfing Qld Website. See below.

The beach run is at point 2. It is out and around a Jeep and back in. At the bottom of the M legs there is a shallow water turn.
Yes the is a run at the start to the paddles and also a run up the beach at the end of each race or heat.

Should be fun

HI Piros

Yes there is two divisions. You can only enter one though at the moment as there is limited spots and we are trying to share the Joy. Woogie and the crew will be judging the shorter board division as an expression session to see what people can do on a wave. Each surfer will get two 30 minute heats in this. Areas will include but are not limited to:
. Best Wave
. Most progressive performance
. Best Dishpan
. etc etc

The over 10' class will be judged in heats, traditional criteria with repo-charges , semi's and final. This is to suit the surfers who don't surf like that of Geoff Breen and Keahi.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

In the surf there is no age division just board sizes.

Yes we have some tickets left. $50 for anyone competing and $85 for non competitors. Bank the money into the club account and send us an email to info@sunshinecoastsup.com
use your name as a reference. Tickets are handed out at the race day on the Saturday.

There is plenty of accommodation nearby TEATREA. There is a really good caravan park right behind the race zone that has cabins and there are plenty of apartments too.
If you go onto the Coolum Web site they have lots of links to Accommodation houses. You can go from Backpacker type right up to High End and anything in between. Most are walking distance to the beach.
Good Luck. ET.

Hay Swanie I believe you'd better get the piss bottle ready for the Ocean Addicts Power of the Paddle Surf Race. I was at the beach today and this little seagull birdie flew up to me and told me a very classic story. There's a few wonna be's, I'm the best 12'6” BOP paddler in Australia. But are on the juice TOO FUNNY like little grommets at the candy store. Puts Lance Armstrong to shame. I had some cyclists ride past me today in their clown suits I looked at them and yelled out F###en Drugos. From next year every competitor has to piss in a bottle at the Rainbow Sandals BOP Race.

Evidence would suggest there's more drug abuse on Seabreeze than there is in SUP racing.

To test you need an official group otherwise you open yourself up to other litigation if you make an accusation. Plus there is no follow through unless official organisations are used. To use a official group like ASADA for an amateur sport it is expensive. Around $3000 for 4 tests. To win on drugs is a hollow victory and i don't get why people do it in these types of sports. Then again that's just my ethics.
Though....
There is moves in Amateur sport to stomp this out as highlighted in the papers on Saturday and I am aware of testing plans in sports like ours that will be funded and random. As this is a Surfing Qld run event now... who knows who shows up????

Yes only spastics use drugs (and wash ride), but don't be a wanker and abuse cyclists!! It's actually quite dangerous!

Those out there in the sup community that are taking banned substances to improve their performance... At the end of the day your cheating and your starting to loose all respect and credit by the sup community.

It's only a matter of time till drug testing will be carried out and hopefully you will all be caught and named and shamed. It's only going to tarnish the sport and also your sponsors.

I hope this event runs well and all competiting are clean. If not , it's sad to see that the sport is taking this direction.

Good Story in the Sunshine Coast Daily this morning, in regards to the Noosa Tri.

www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/Noostriathlon-waits-for-race-drug-testing/1590823/

Wash riding I would say would be cheating if it is in the rules that wash riding is prohibited but who reads the rules within there sports anyway.

This post and several others I've read elsewhere seem to contain a veiled presumption of knowing who is taking what, when and how. I have also heard these specific accusations along with the so-called evidence, and frankly, I'm not convinced, largely because the evidence is circumstantial, inaccurate, or in some instances, simply untrue. Which makes me question the motives of those starting and spreading this gossip in the first place. And that's an even sadder direction for the sport to be taking.

Am i missing something here? who is on drugs? Few of the top guys and girls have already been tested at the ISA and all came back clean. Seems to be some one throwing around false clams of people on drugs without any proof what so ever!! Maybe the people winning are just training harder and smarter than the ones not winning!!!
I've heard i'm on the weed!!LOL but that didn't help me at all
