Wow! what a great turn out to the first round of the Lake Kawana speed series!
Well done to all who turned up and raced around the 4km circuit.
It was hard work! the wind was cranking and we all had to push hard up into it from the start!
We had some great times recorded considering the tough conditions.
It was so great to see everyone rocking up and having a go even on surf style sups.
To those that did it around the course on surf sups well done sorry no pics as it was dark by the time you got around!... ha ha just jokes, actually some of you got some really impressive times.
There was a lot of bravado and pride at stake! The enthusiasm was high and every one was pumped!
Big thanks to Jodie from Coreban for manning the stopwatch and recording all the times. The guys from paddles also helped out heaps and have recorded and put up every ones lap times on their web site www.paddleshop.com.au so be sure to check them out.
Sorry about the pics we forgot the camera Dohh! and only had our phones!
Starting Line - seconds away from the gun - The head wind was that strong it was pushing us back off the line!
And we are off!

Thanks Luke and Hayden - that was fun !
First time I have got to paddle one of those race boards, thanks for the fancy loaner board and the opportunity!. Conditions can only be better next week....
Looks like Dale Chapman will be up to the Sunnie coast with his new 14' boards, hopefully also a 12'6.
Great to see so many attending the last race, tomorrow may have a strong Westerly crosswind to chop up the lake.
Great!! It's on now!! Sheezz my arms are already wrecked from surfing my shorty all arvo. Gota dig deep now!
