The SHQ Coreban ''Cruise to the Cerberus'' SUP event is on next Sunday February 12th at Sandringham, Victoria. This will be the 5th consecutive year of Victoria's longest running SUP event, that has attracted the likes of Jamie Mitchell who won last year ahead of Paul ''Jacko'' Jackson.
This years event will be a great day for all the family, especially for one lucky grommie, who will win a brand new green Coreban 8ft Vibe SUP!
All kids who register on the day will go into the lucky draw to win!
Don't miss it!
The SHQ Crew
Hey Luke,
This is always a great race looking forward to seeing the crew there!
Yet again great to see the groms getting a look in.
Phill
Hey Phil,
If we're lucky enough to score a glassy morning like today we'll be stoked! Apparently ''El Presidente'' PT Woody and a keen bunch of Paddlers had a rather serious 2 hr training run to the Cerberus this morning, that included some beach sprints up the Red Bluff Cilffs!!(The Mark Bradtke program
) Gee this Vic Title series sure is firing a few up!
Looking forward to seeing you and all the Westcoast crew down with your families.
Further details are also on our website: www.shq.com.au
Cheers,
Luke

Hey Guys,
the wind forecast for Sunday is now 10-20 knots south to southeast, which has been reduced from the previous 20-25 knots, so we're hoping it's on the lighter side come start time!
However, if we have a strong head wind that is over 18 knots south-southeast, we are going to run a downwind course instead of the traditional course, to make it more enjoyable for all competitors.
The decision on the course will be made by SHQ and SUP Vic at 9am, and then explained at the briefing at 9.15am.
If we decide on a downwind course, we will then be asking you to make your way down to Half Moon Bay, Black Rock for the start at 10.30am sharp.
SHQ has a new SUP trailor that holds 15 boards, so if it's easier for you, we can transport your board to Half Moon Bay. This would allow more people to car pool together down to the the start at Black Rock, where there is limited parking next to the Yacht Club.
We do hope the wind is light enough to run our traditional race course.
Thanks,
SHQ
For anyone wanting to borrow a super fast race board for the race, SHQ has 2 New 2012 Bark demo raceboards-courtesy of Surftech! We have the Bark 12'6 and 14' Dominator,so first in best dressed. Just reply to this post and your name will be stuck on it for the race!
SHQ
Hey Matt, I'll put your name on it. It'll be sitting on the beach from 8am, so you can take it for a warm up!

Thanks Luke, look forward it. Do you guys have a spare leggie, I seem to have lost one over the summer.
Regards Mel
It's looking pretty good with the wind now dropping to only 5-10 knots and a lot of east in the direction.. That's pretty off-shore in direction making it pretty smooth.. See ya there..

What a great day.. .. Thanks to SHQ and Coreban for putting on another great 'Cruise to the Cerberus'.
One of these lucky kids won themselves a brand new Coreban board.. board bag.. and new Naish adjustable paddle.

Here's the cool Coreban board that one of the lucky kids won.
The start of the main race and everyone was told the course will be the same as past years with a slight head wind going up and a nice tail wind coming back.
Board handlers were kept busy as the races finished with a jump off their board and short run across the line.
some action photos from todays race, i think i got a photo of everyone, i'll down load them all over the next couple of days
Great pics,thanks DJ!
Wow what a great turnout. To have 60 plus competitors was fantastic and well done to everyone who competed and paddled so hard! The level of competition has really increased since last years race, and this was especially evident by the very fast race times. Well done to ''Line Honours'' winner Rupert Lancashire, a very fast time considering the headwind going out!
A big thanks to Coreban for giving away the cool green Coreban Vibe 8ft board, Naish for the paddle and NSP for donating $1000 worth of vouchers to the winners! Thanks also Surftech for bringing down their range of demo boards, Barks etc.
Many thanks to the SUP Vic commitee, Paul, Jean, Kathy, Con, Tim, and Rob for doing the registration and finish, much appreciated guys! Thanks Jonathon, DJ and others above for running the fun kids races. All the kids had a ball!
Big thanks also to Mike Carter Key and Paul Harding from Hampton LSC for providing the start and safety boat.
See you all at the next race!
Cheers
Luke

Cheers Hock, great to hear Jaimon is thrilled with his board and paddle. It's a really fun board! Looking forward to seeing him on it in the surf, hopefully at the SUP Vic Inverloch weekend in March. It was great to see so many kids having so much fun yesterday

This was Hock and Jaimon last year at the SupVic w/e at Inverloch.. This year he will be on his own board... That's if he can get his dad off it..
