NZ may not be in one of the biggest markets in the corporate world, but is this the start of big business taking notice of SUP?

In what may be a first for the standup world, Annabel Anderson has signed on as an ambassador for Subaru in New Zealand.

Is she the first SUP athlete to attract sponsorship from the corporate world outside of SUP - i'm not sure? But a major multi-national company throwing support behind a SUP athlete definitely isn't common place yet, and to see that support being thrown behind a female athlete is AWESOME!!!

So, will this be the start of the corporate world taking notice of our growing sport and will we see more and more deals like this in the near future? Only time will tell...

Anyway, big congratulations to Annabel on the new deal.

Great to see Subaru getting behind any athlete, fantastic to see them sponsoring a SUP athlete and All - Time that its a woman SUP athlete.

I was really surprised with the amount of support for the juniors and particularly the women in the states.

There is a massive push being championed by Candice Appleby for the prize purses for all races and comps to be equal.

We were also stoked to see this happened with the Performance Paddling Pro Junior

Ali hopefully this will all flow through into the Australian Market.

This isn't the first instance of a car company getting behind an elite SUP athlete. Dean72 spotted this SKODA earlier in the week...

Thats awesome , just shows what a great sport sup is , and that girl is an absolute weapon. You only have to see the the numbers of people just paddling around in the local water ways , to see the future for sup is unlimitedOh how i wish i was young On the same note really a bit dissapointing that OZ is not at the forfront of big sup events.
Considering we have so many gun paddlers and participants. Obviousley Subaru see the value in the sup brand!

(Somehow I don't think I rate in the same league as the elite/professional paddlers, just an office worker with an expensive hobby).
