Currently living in a 2 bed townhouse with a small 15' courtyard, and no lock up garage - storing 4 x SUP's has become a bit of a nightmare. Throw in 3 or 4 kites & kite boards, it's all a bit of a nightmare.

See the pic below for details:

We have some very limited options to hang from the pergola roof.

If crew have any images &/or ideas about SUP racks, I'd greatly appreciate them.

And yes, purchasing a bigger place is probably also on the cards....soon!

if that pic is of your court yard, just get some wall mounted racks that the boards lay across horizontally. If you then are worried about security while you are not there, get the longboard locks that fit into the leg rope attachment and lock to racks

There's been a thread on this a few months ago.
After pondering various options (including DJ's of course) I went to "surfnrak". Decided that after paying for all the bits to cobble one together, Id be better off just paying for a professionally made one. I was right.

Good product, prompt delivery, can't go wrong.
I've got their 3 stacker bolted to the side of the garage wall, with a 9' Fanatic, 10 6 Nalu and a 12 6 Javelin all fitting in nicely. (gotta juggle the fin overlaps)
You could do the same - if you move the bbq!

Juddy, Let me know if ya need a hand???

There's a free standing version in my profile pic's and a few variable sizes to allow for foot straps on Kite boards or Windsurfers with longer fins etc.

Gosup,

Those free standing racks in your profile look awesome.

Did you make them, or get them made?

Thanks Faito, we've made a few sets for some mates... and myself

They flat pack as a kit pretty well but not sure about freight to Vic?

I could supply you a kit for around $200-250? Depending if you prefer adjustable feet etc?

If your keen or want more info send me a PM.

Gosup!

So we went from this:

To this (within the space of a week)

Where there was chaos and craziness, there is now order & beauty (and I can get to the bbq).

Big shout out to Gosup for his ideas & work - thank you!

Thanks Zeusman, I do have two sons and I'm a tad reluctant to part with what I learnt on

However, I am now beginning to farm boards out to other beginners

Hi Folks,
haven't got the SUP yet (soon tho) but need a rack solution to go on Gyprock/steel stud walls in new games room. Can't make a mess out of the place or wifey will have my guts..
Have looked at links in this thread for wall hanging but open to idea of free standing but must be able to slide a small couch under the boards.
What boards?
8' 6 Mal
10ft SUP (most likely size I will buy) * SUP may end up with kayak slung on T-Rack style under open garage so need to make pinch proof!
2 x kiteboards

Any suggestions appreciated.

BTW Juddy, now you can get to the BBQ give it a bit of a clean and some TLC.

I have just used a shelvit double slot system for gyprock walls at home.

I used the double slot upright secured to the studs in the wall and extended the brackets slightly by adding some pine to each one.

All up it cost less than $100 for 4 fully adjustable shelves from Bunnings. I can move them up and down, vary the gaps and even add more as required.

Hmm.. good economical suggestion but not sure about gangly bits catching on boards and also rampaging squids in room knocking shelves that can pop out of posi.

On a tangent: Anybody slinging SUP and/or kayaks under garage roof able to share lock up tips to keep errant ice fiends from heading to Gumtree with my beloved water toys?

I have Dockslocks leash plug locks (there is also a fin box attachment). Not cheap but uncomplicated to get on and off and should stop the opportunistic scumbag.
There is an aus distributor, just google.
