Well with bit of ingenuity we have 3 permits for Sunday and all bases covered, even if it hits the predicted 5M and 20kn westerly we will still be right.
Polish up your board and head down the coast for some serious FUN
Phill
SERIOUSLY
postpone it till the weekend of the 17/18th
cause ill be in town and i can yell at you all via a mic all day long.....
That would have been a ripper plan Dogman. I recon we will have to take a rain check on that...
Looks like we will gets some pumping swell tomorrow ..the most western 100mtres of 13th beach could be smokin'
Tomorrow morning we need all crew need to meet Signpost at 6.45 am, we will have crew up and down the coast taking visuals and we will make a decision by 650 as to the final location. We need all hands on deck so that we can move the tents and gear if we need to. If the wind gets too strong we will relocate the aim is to get the best conditions we can on the day.
If you need to call me on 0418 649 327 for directions should you miss the meeting.
Regards
Phill
Hey Mr Dogmeister,
How long are you down for?
With the run of swell we have been having there might be some epic waves on a couple interesting locations on offer
I heard a rumor, that there will be a free BBQ for all in the Sup Vic Surf event tomorrow! That should not only satisfy the appetite but also those thinking the entry fee was too high, now it's the best value Sup event on the West Coast....,.. Come on down.. surf will be crank'n

I reckon I might get 10 waves tomorrow, that's 2.50 a wave and only 3 guys out, reckon that's pretty good value Plus a free BBQ and get to catch up with some good people

so see ya soon
Well it was a chilly 4 deg greeting us at Signpost this morning before we transited to
.... Queensland?
DJ
We were greeted with a chilly 4 deg with strong is westerly wind when the crew got to Signpost this morning.
After the jungle drums were consulted and 4 locations up and down the coast were checked we settled on Mystery Point for todays event.
Into the cars and get the tents on the ground and boards in the water was the call. After a testing walk in with all the gear and an hour of hard slog we were ready to go.
There were Solid 3 - 4ft waves with 5ft+ on the sets rolling down the point as we layed 1st eyes on the break, perfect it wasn't but there was plenty of face to work you just had to get to it!
The OG Netballers set up the BBQ and I have to say the smell and scrumptious taste of bacon and eggs on a frosty Vicco morning was pretty damn good and we finalised the set up and then the 1st heat hit the water.
The heat draw was up
4 x 4 man heats
1 x 4 women heat
2 x 4 man repo
3 x 4 man semis
1 x 4 women final
1 x 6 man final
TBC
With offshore wind and a few rips to be negotiated the paddle out kept everyone on their toes as there was a lot of water moving around.
AND THEN .. ??
Hey 2MT he organised the event, shifted about two tonnes worth of Tents and other crap 300 metres to the spot and then back again. He lent his butt to the local councils and authorities to get permits for all of the different options, he MC'd the whole thing, did the heats and finals organisation and at a guess been up since around 4.00 am. I reckon: HE MIGHT BE HAVING A NAP, A MEAL OR SIMPLY PASSED OUT FROM EXHAUSTION!!!. Be patient Grasshopper!!!! He should have the rest of the night off!!! Great Work Phill in particular, and then to the whole Sup Vic crew. It was even sunny there and raining everywhere else, I don't want to ask Phill who had to make deal with for that one!!!! BTW looking at your Avatar 2MT it's easier to Surf on a sup with one of your legs in front of the other in case you want to turn your board, just a thought!!!!
But I've only got one leg.
And appologies to OG Sup for pushing
him too far .. you guys should help him
out a tad .. poor fella.
How are you Tony? Hey Leroy thanks heaps for all your help today too man.!!.:)
Trust me 2mt knows how to ride a SUP.. He charges..:)
Thanks SUP Vic crew, well done Phil Had a great w/end with the crew.
I'm hiring a board caddy next time to cope with quick sand, or maybe I should just get fitter.
Phil you sure those waves only 3 to 5', sliding down some of those suckers I could of sworne they were solid 6.
Absolutely recked here sitting at work, might take a nap.

GREAT DAY.WE HOLD THE BEST COMPS!!!!!
Hey 2mt and Courts, didn't you notice all the smiles after the comment???? And if I want to be jealous of a guy who is better than me with one leg, that's my probleM. How embarrassing, seriously, I thought........ well you still are impatient, and Phill still did a great job. I've got to say you are freakin amazing 2MT!!!! I have trouble with 2 legs and you can do that on one???? Bloody incredible inspiration for all of us!!!! And Courts for the conditions, you guys all ripped bags so it was a pleasure to watch and easy to judge. If you were lucky enough to be in position to jag one of the huge shifting peaks and caught two waves you won. In saying that Mick Smith was incredibly unlucky. His first wave and then wave after the hooter would have been the highest score of the day but instead he had to go through the repachages. It'll be interesting to find out who won. It was hilarious when people were groaning about making it through to the finals!! Very hard work and big ups to all of those who went out!! Mick it was one of those days where it was particularly big but it was a true thick Antarctic swell, there was so much water in those swells if there had been a shallow bank they probably would have jacked up to eight. I betcha that Beacon probably was, but was too gnarly to ride. If I did'nt have my dodgy hip I would have gone down to Cathedral and a little further to surf. It was a shame we couldn't get Point Danger at Torquay, cause I reckon that would have been good as well. Again Phill got a place where the best surfers won, though like Mick, if luck was against you then you'll have to wait till the next comp. The original day3 weeks ago was the pick of all the days but that's life!!
I can't believe I was picking on a guy with one leg!!!. At least you've got the consolation of knowing you've got a full brain 2MT and I have only half of one. BTW you're still impatient though
Nice job Sean standing there all day with the lens freezing your arse off.
I think the smiles on everyone's faces at the end of the day was a good indication of how great a day we had
How awesome was the BBQ grub!!!! Thanks OG Netball Club for slaving over the hotplate all day!!
Everyone was so knackered after the day's surfing, no one else was keen to hit the local establishment for a couple of quick beers with me
SUP VIC comps are getting better and better with each one we do.
Can't wait for the next one!!!.....so long as it's more that a couple of days away cause I reckon it might take that long to fully recover from this one.
I wanted to write a full blown report but I wont I would rather the crew that was there each shared a couple points from the day.
In Summary:
If you want to find a surfable location you can, its in the preparation get multiple options choose the best on the day.
With so many people helping out the impossible can be done.
All high tide forecasts are bull sh1t think of them as a prediction not a promise LOL.
Quote from a long boarder yesterday "Man that's ****ing amazing seeings SUP hitting it like that in swell that big)
Harry Who? that kid rips
Multiple goofy comments "Hey there are lefts **** there really are lefts"
This food is awesome
I think our netballers should try this preseason on the river for training.
I'm going to type this report then go to bed???????
SUP Vic Surf Crew thanks to everyone for making it a memorable and awesome day!!!!!!!!!!
The Results:
Open Mens:
1st Harry (300m ride from way outside the point almost to the shore) Lee
2nd John (I can make that wave or I will die trying) Takle
3rd Chris (The cut back king) Clark
4th Courtney (That's not a bomb this is a BOMB) Dalton

Open Womens:
These girls showed great courage, they took on the best the ocean had and came back exhausted and with huge smiles. The sweep dragged them miles down the beach and they just didn't give up. I bet they all slept soundly last night.
Kristi (god am I stuck in another rip?) Page
Laura Andrews (How long to go? REALLY that long)
Kathy ( I will do this if it kills me) Naoumidis

Hey 2MT,
I had heaps of help yesterday and weeks earlier as well that's what made it the comp it was.
The SUP Vic Surf Crew Vibe is pretty cool and we just get it done.
We would love to have the guys from Tassie come join us for a comp or even a free surf weekend, we want to work with you guys in any way we can.
You should hook up with SA SUP Crew as well they are all time, maybe we could get a Southern Ocean SUP Comp on the boil.
Phill

Hey Mick what a smoking day, looking at some of the images your right 6 solid is a fair call, I saw one image of Harry and Courtney out on the point and 6+ solid with a huge bomb about to evaporate them in the back ground.
Sean also posted a image of you paddling out and the wave face is 3 times your height lol.
But I've only got one leg.
And appologies to OG Sup for pushing

Would have to be on neutral turf. I suggest King Island. And everyone has to paddle there.
LOL Too funny.
You go first and I'll follow. Do we need to wear PFD's and Legropes? Maybe it could be the first part of the BOP style event??? Only 12'6"S Allowed. It'd be a great Downwinder on the way back if a Southerly kicks in!!! Yeah, you've got my vote PT, hang on, I need to take another Pain Killer, where was I? Oh yeah great idea PT!!! Did I just say that? Did I just say that? Did I just say that? Oooops, Goldfish Bowl syndrome!!! Oh Yeah Phill needs to be congratulated on his superb effort on the weekend!!!! Did I just say that? King Island here I come!!! 10.30 am tomorrow from St Kilda Marina!! LOL Well I found it funny anyway.
PS. Great win by the Kangas on Friday, hopefully they took blood samples after the game
