We had a great weekend. Sunny weather, a lovely left and right directly across the road from the SUP Vic house that was fun for the more experienced surfers, but yet also really good for those who were pretty new to the surf. I'm sure those who came down would agree with me that it was a great weekend.
Here are a few random photos.
Here are a few more.....you may notice the new SUP Vic safety boat in one of the photos, out behind DJ.
We also discovered the new Starboard prototype battle of the paddle model....in secret testing down at Inverloch.
DJ has scooped some preview pics, so I'll let him post them - especially for Jonathon and PT Woody to drool over!
Great pics Rosscoe.
First time in the surf on a Sup for me on Saturday. Normally I just paddle on flat water down at the Inlet. Arrived a bit late on the Saturday, around 10:30am but went out for a few hours and really enjoyed it. Started to get the hang of it towards the end and actually caught a few waves. Perfect size and quality first a first time & great to see so many people out. Had a great time and keen to get out in the surf more often from here on...
Looks like a weekend of nice little waves there. Around Sydney onshore and messy except for a few crowded southerly protected spots. Jealous. cheers
Great shots Roscoe! Would like to thank all the organizers of Sup Vic for putting on such a great week end. They got the weather right, the venue right and the swell right.
10/10 to all the Girls and Guys that came and made it such a great couple of days, from beginners to old hacks the smiles where beaming, there was something there for everybody. If you live in Vic and enjoy Suping, join Sup Vic, you couldn't meet a better bunch of people. Awesome!
Great photos boys, thanks to Sup Vic for organizing a terrific weekend of good times, some really good surfing took place, I reckon there might have to be a debriefing session down at the Sandy sometime, Supp'n is well and truly alive in Vicco
Well done to all who contributed and participated. Quite fitting that Sup Vic hosted the first and last events for this season.
Great uncrowded waves and weather. Can't wait until next year's event.
Thanks everyone for coming down!
We couldn't have possibly got any better conditions, like Max Wells said, he hadn't seen it like that in 30 years.
Crongrats to Leon who was voted best performer over the weekend. He had his little Laguna Bay ripping!
Thanks to SUP Vic and the sponsors for setting up a fantastic weekend!
Reasons to be stoked:
1.Conditions were fantastic
2. I didn't manage to ding my board - always a bonus.
3. I learnt heaps from watching the experts ripping the swell - great to see.
Thanks again,
AB
Rosscoe thanks for the pics, great to see so many guys getting into it.Unfortunately i couldn't make it as my wife finally had her knee surgery on Wednesday and is on crutchers for a few weeks to come.Looked to be a nice little lefthander i would have loved to got into.Sup Vic rule and i can't believe how far we have come in such a short period of time.Keep up the great work.
It would have been good to have you there Rodriguez....I'm sure we can put on even bigger and better events next season. Watch this space.
Well done everyone at SUP VIC .
What can i say , i missed out big time it just looks so much fun.
Nice pic of Brendan rail cutty on the white Coreban...ripping !
Next year for sure
Rich
Thanks SUP Vic for allowing me to demo a couple of boards.
Now I just need to decide which one to buy!
Been looking at this topic for a couple of days now.
Looks like a great weekender and many thanks for the awesome photos
Great location for all but, one thing stands out is the men are all in wetsuites other than the other man DJthe Ladies are so tuff in their swimmer summer stuff
Thanks again for the rundown and photos
Aha! DJ has had his wettie surgically implanted to his epidermis and as such, doesn't require a second wettie.
Actually, on the Sunday, the big fella did sport the rubber suit.
This event just happened to have all of the right ingredients and to be in the channel, paddling back out to the the break and cheering on a newbie pulling into one of their first ever waves, their face a picture of concentration and nailing the ride was what made it soooo much fun for me!
No aggro, no egos, just good old fashioned surf stoke.
Only in Vicco! [ or Tassie perhaps]
