Thumbs Up

SUP & Fiji were meant to be together.
I got back a couple of weeks back but hit a few hurdles. We were there for a friends wedding, so brushed taking our boards. Got a few paddles in after that when we stayed @ Lomani on Plantation Island. We had sorted some boards through Walu water sports on the mainland, a few days before we left Lisa mentioned that Plantation had SUPs so no need to hire mine. Got brushed heavily from Namotu and Tavarua when we asked about hiring some off them. I do get it that if you are not staying there you can't get any boards. But the aussie bloke on Namotu treated us like a couple of tools. So here is the massive tip - TAKE YOUR OWN.
Hiring is between 50-70 fijian a day. Transport to the islands has changed with the new taxes. I thought I researched enough but surf resorts have all the bits.

This is what we ended up with. They bend a little in the middle when chasing some runners off what ever boat goes by, but with that water the little issues we had were not a drama.

Oh and Vonu is a much better beer than fijian bitter...
