Surfing Round this Sunday ... no idea as to where yet as too many variables in the swell report so stay tuned .... Sunday should go off more than a NSW Sports Reporter after reading Mal's column on Sunday.
OK IT'S ON, LOCATION 3RD AVENUE BURLEIGH HEADS, BE THERE FOR 7.00AM WITH FIRST HEAT IN THE WATER BY 7.30AM. REMEMBER YOU ARE SURFING FOR SELECTION IN TEAM FOR THE COAST OF ORIGIN REGIONALS SO REMEMBER TO PACK YOU "A" GAME.
comp at 3rd ave burleigh- in search of the perfect left -again
ps opposite southern cross highrise 7 am start
You driving from WA Makaha ????
BTW .. will have extra tents there today so everyone's can get out of the rain in between heats.
Any final results ?
Saw two sic wipeouts before I had to go to work:
1. Jacko freesurfing before the comp' started - very impressive wipeout (very impressive) - shame you couldn't have saved it for the heats. (swear I didn't laugh at you jacko )
2. Scotty - just in case you were wondering, the sandy stuff is the beach and thats where you are supposed to stop surfing Not sure how many fins you went out with but I bet you were counting them when you finished the heat - that was kinda taking the milking of a wave to the extreme
Also got to see some pretty impressive surfing at times with young Jake surfing with a lot of confidence and Jacko absolutely smoking on one very nice set wave that rolled through. Also heard on the grapevine that Jenny J gave the boys a surf lesson as well - is this true lads ?
Look forward to hearing the final results for the day.
jacko was on a mission today, some outstanding surfing from him- he won.
jenny j will be driving the car home today- won a heat against men including her husband.
i imagine the drive home would have been very quite. she has some surfing talent alright
cheers
Well anyone that can go left at snapper is a standout and he was true to form today one could only imagine what he would be like with paddle in hand
He's very low key,in the water you get nothing out of him other than a surfing lesson.
One wave he takes off late and he no spring chicken, couple of turns, gets pitted into little marley comes out and lites up all the way to greenmount. He paddled past me and I say hey great wave man and he nodes, said nothing.
Under threat of copping an absolute drenching from dark and heavy skies and doing whatever in avoiding the wind chill factor of -10, we went ahead. Facebook has some pics for those interested. Yep, Jacko was on a mission with some serious rail to rail carves and hacks off the top. But he didn't have it all his own way, in fact the final was neck and neck down to the last two minutes with Johnno and Matty just missing out. Jenny J had to surf against the boys and after last month's round, is wasn't surprising to do the tally and find that she had relegated the boys including husband Johnno to the minor placings.
BIG THANKS TO TOM, THE MAL RIDER FROM THE ALLEY FOR THE BEST WIPEOUT PRIZES TODAY, JENNY WAS ALSO SUCCESSFUL IN OBTAINING THE WOMEN'S PRIZE MEN'S IS I THINK GONE TO PEASEY FOR HIS ATTEMPT OF A FLOATER AND SUBSEQUENT NEAR MISS ON HAVING TO CANCEL HIS VASECTOMY APPOINTMENT (DUNNO HOW THAT IS GOING TO GET BETTER IF YOU RUB IT)
HUGE PROPS TO Teatree, Oi, Vinnie AND Pete from SUPWORLD for being on hand to capture the carnage on film, hope we get some great pics to update website.
