Keahi didn't advance, apparently due to a lack of waves in his heat.

That's a shame... would have been fun to see Keahi and Kai battle in each heat all the way to the finals.

While the pitiful webcast has been down, I've been watching it live here:
www.surfline.com/surf-report/hb-southside/5842041f4e65fad6a77088ed

Here's the current heat sheet for tomorrow, according to the Stand Up World Tour Facebook page.

Colin McPhillips
Robin Johnston

1/4 Finals Heat 2:

1/4 Finals heat 3:
Sean Poynter
David Boehne
Xabi Lafitte
Zane Schweitzer

1/4 Finals heat 4:
Leco Salazar
Matt Becker
Antoine Delpero
Kody Kerbox

Go k boy.

Good to see some Aussies could afford to get over there. He'll win it or at least make the final.

Keahi bummer. Wish he had gone further cause your surfing is fluid and not poking and stabbing. I haven't seen the other guys but always thought you had a fluid and progressive style.

Thanks for all the support guys. Was a good fun comp and we scored some super fun waves for most of the comp. I was really stoked with how I did yesterday but ended up having a really flat heat today and just couldn't find the waves to get though.

Still really happy with how I did and it was a really fun event. Would be good to see more Aussies in the comp and like people have said, the trials are open to anyone so anyone who wants to enter can enter. It's just finding the money to get there.

Cheers,
Keahi

Great work Keahi, from the vid that Casso put up, it was hard to get an idea of how good the waves were...... Good to hear it is now open to anyone through trails. As you say just a mater of making the effort. What were the final results?

Hey crew
just wanted to say that it was awsome having Kiahi, Dave Gareth and Justin there at the Huntington comp, even Jako and Ang made a few appearances! good Aussie representation, The boys were all ripping and doing us proud, obviously Kiahi's dishpan move was a standout! he has got a couple really good turns on lockdown and thats one of them for sure!

The SUWT is still in its infancy, and like all entities of this nature, it is experiencing growing pains, better than shrinking pains im guessing! i really hope it continues to grow and prosper, because its great fun doing these events, its not really about trying to win, although that is definately a factor, but more about being with like minded people who can push you and make you get better, and sharing the stoak that we all have for SUP, i see these contests as a holiday theme, giving more meaning to my vacations.
Both comps i have been to have had a great vibe and minimal ego maniacs, which is a refreshing change in surfing competitions.

So congrats Kiahi for winning the trials, and for that amazing heat you had with Kai, inspirational! And to the rest of the Aussies for representing us in a positive light, surfing great, and showing that we have the right stuff.
yeeeewwwwww
