Christmas is over and if you've indulged too much on the food and liquid amber it's time to turn your thoughts to the 4th race of the Sydney SUP Downwind Series. Maybe you can work a bit of that excess off. They say that on average you put on 800 grams over the festive season.

Our next race will be held this coming weekend (Jan 11-12) and once again will be held on the day that provides us with the best downwind conditions possible. Mark it on the diary and work on obtaining your "Leave Pass" from the boss.

Further details will be posted on Sea Breeze and the series Face Book page during the week.

Who will turn up this month? Tom Carroll for race 2 and Jimmy Spithill for race 3. Who's next? David Kissane?

It's a few days out yet Anton. We never worry too muchat this stage. It was unusual that Sea breeze was so accurate 3 days out from last weekend. Decision will likely be made Thur pm or Fri am.

Looks like a lot of glamour and star power for Race 4. I hear that a few surf industry execs are starting to take notice of the series too which is just awesome.
How good are the conditions looking!!!!!!!!!!!
Other race directors should look at incorporating some waiting period flexibility into their races - I think Sam Williams Jonny Engel and the team are onto a winner...and the beers and BBQ at the finish (at WSS) are just icing on the cake

Hi All,
Conditions looking good for today's event. We're still planning on a 2pm start. That should see us into the peak wind period. It's going to be a fun run with some nice little bumps.
Cheers OME

Sorry mate - had to be there to collect. "Re draw, Redraw" they yelled I think nearly everyone at the BBQ walked away with something thanks to O'Neill.

Thanks for the photos Suz, and the rest of the organising crew. Thanks also to O'Neill for their generosity - love my hybrid hoodie jacket.

Is anyone else having this rather unsettling recurring dream where you are being chased by a large swarm of red and white 14 foot SUPs - and no matter how fast you paddle you just can't get away from them....

Seriously, the new fanatics look great. Mick went great. Mark's DC also looked the goods - great race mate.

At least the top 5 were all on diff board brands - not a complete monopoly yet

Thanks for the photos Suz.
How is it - 4 races and nice downwind conditions for each of them
Throw in the 20 Beaches, which had the best conditions ever, and I think the sport is really coming of age in Sydney.
Great to see all the new faces as well sharing the stoke of downwind SUP racing
