Quite possibly the ugliest 2:40 of surfing ever.
If riding a 6'4 x 40" or whatever it is makes you surf like that these boards should never be marketed.
i agree, would love to see another video of this board in something a bit bigger with a bit more power
Sorta defeats the whole idea of the SUP thing to me.
Would be interesting to have someone on a 9'8 or similar goin wave for wave with the small board to compare glide etc.
But then again if we all rode the same boards it would be a boring world.

Not so revolutionary when you consider Starboard have had a 6'6 in their range for a while. I wonder what their sales count is on that one, have noticed there has been one in buy/sell for quite some time now. Definitley an acquired taste/style.
Here are some media:
- photos of a 6'3" www.bothejess.com/article-swell-de-fevrier-part-1-shortsup-fatal-6-3-gongsup-66486880.html www.bothejess.com/article-la-mob-a-bobo-61495188.html
- video: starts with a 5'9" (the guy weight 200lbs) www.gong-galaxy.com/magazine/movies/autopipe/ (the one he is 360 with is a 8'0" alais - finless)
- paddling on it and small waves www.gongsup.com/Potensmall.html?lang=fr
A lot of people await the next container of shortSUPs, I guess you will have more reports then
Harsh critics , i thought it was alright , pretty gutless waves.Dont see the point in those small boards though , unless your jockey size.
Not a big fan of that surfing although it's good to see any footage on here IMO.
Hardly revolution again, even 7S had a board in the 7' range over a year ago and
it looks like it went better/or the same.
I think it would be hard to get any board working well on that flat mushy wave.
It looked pretty good to me.. Does anyone know for sure how wide it is?

how insane is that gong quiver shot with all those red sticks lined up on the beach ready to rock
would love to rock up to the beach half hungover with a can of red bull and a traveller pie and be able to have a crack at all those wierd lookin crafts one after the other
i had a go of a new wierd looking starboard 7'2 or 7'3 ????? the other day kindly lent to me by lyn form yamba/angourie that gets on here on random occassions and had a few waves on it dish panning it to a friggin teflon coated hell and back then i jumped onto the starboard 8'5 and had a much nicer time dish panning it only with just a little bit of a hint of a the rail engaging and drawing a line(sorta kinda but not?????)
both were great fun in the small but clean waves
novelty factor priceless
This video has been around for awhile.
On the above, you can get a feel for the various rails & rockers: closer row from left to right (black - carbon - & red): 5'11" One, 6'3" Fatal, 6'6" Fatal round, 6'9" Mutant (wombat), 7'2" OD (egg), 7'4" Shake (egg), 8'0" AlaïaSup, 9'0" zéro, 9'6" Soul, 9'9" Freak, 10'10"
8'0" Alaia SUP?
Have you got any vid of that Colas?
Here are some video (mixed with other boards). As you can see, the shaper looooves 360s :-)

Myself, I never managed to get a wave when I tried... the thing is ok to paddle on the flat but insanely hard to apply power for the take off without spinning in place. Apparently you have to dig the rear of the rail paddle-side in quick "pumps" synchronized with your paddle strokes.
