Noah in action on a custom 7'1 shaped by Blane Chambers for Art in Surf. Not much traveling since school has been tougher this year. Hope you enjoy some of the B and C waves the Unko's let Noah grab.

Aloha

Love some good back side action Cool vid Byron and nice graphics. The board shape looks pretty different how is Noah liking it and when did Blane switch to FCS fins.

noah then twirls the paddle around to change sides from that position- very quicky in almost one smooth action- looks more natural- i like it

Great surfing. Thanks for the post.
And yes, curious about the paddle length . . . anyone know what Noah opts for? Looks like a couple of inches over head-height?
Cheers, Dave

EDIT: I guess the other interesting thing is how little he actually digs the paddle in on many waves. I guess his ability, the length of the board, and the quality of the waves factor in to that.

i personally think a lot of the top guys are twirling and changing paddled sides and do across board dips etc because it gets judged more then actually really doing anything.

please, does anyone really think a pro on a 7'4 sup really needs to digs his paddle in to help him turn

Ripping! Creates so much speed off the bottom with those fantastic bottom turns. Thanks for sharing. If I go back to school can I please learn to surf like that.

Gee at this rate, he could go 6'2 and not worry about the paddle and . . . uh oh.

Piros - Noah is sponsored by FCS so Blane puts the FCS system in for him...

As far as the paddle length Noah's prefers 4 inches over his head. His current paddles were built for when he was 5'9 but now he is 5'11 so they are 2 inches above head. He has new paddles next week that are adjusted to his growth. As far as the paddle twirling he says he doesn't know he's doing it and it's natural for the switch to happen for him and not intentional. Stupid kid.

I think its more due to Noah being sponsored by FCS why BC has FCS system in place. The kid is ripping, smooth and sharp! Love it

Nice video!
The board seems quite narrow, do you know its width?

It looks like Noah was discovering the board on the first waves, the way he gains confidence with it wave after wave is impressive...

And yes, the shorter you get, the more "squirt" a board can deliver out of turns... especially under the feet of talented riders!

Oops double posted this vid my bad. Noah is surfing really well. His paddle changes are so quick and natural I did not notice them at first

Board is 24 wide. Noah is 5'11 165 lbs.

Good catch these were the first times riding the board and the filming was a progression of the session

Perspective of the board it floats him well to paddle back in the lineup and catch waves.

He is growing into what I always thought he would after I saw his first video.
Noah is surfing amazing and power is coming into play now which is making it even more exciting.

But I really admired what he could do on a board that was too big for him when he was like 100lbs.
It developed his flow and style.

Keep the vids coming...great to see the progression each year.

Can be the paddle longer than usual cause the board narrower than ever??? Watch stiffness of the shaft

Anyway, that's works with his natural ability to switch the paddle efficiently

good sound too

Anybody can tell the way is NOHA taking off

I think he is going front side stance to switch quickly paddle on backside side so paddle facing the wave, but can't see really much about because the vid starts always after it.

Agree with Bnaccas. It's been such a watching Noah progress from riding that massive 12 foot PSH to where he is now. Always enjoy his vids.
Keep it up mate
