Hi David,

I will get this pic to all the local surf shops ASAP and get the word out on the coconut wireless.

Who's board is it?

That's Lynda's board. She blitzed in the Great Melbourne Paddle just 2 weeks earlier. Hope it finds its way home.

Guys - thanks for your help in trying to locate my stolen board - It's pretty distinctive so I hope someone notices it.

Thanks again

While I am outraged about the stolen board ... you've got to admire the ambition of the St Andrews drug addicts. "Cool. No one's looking. Let's just nab this 14' long specialist racing SUP and try to sell it down the pub."

Hopefully the absurdity of the situation will ensure it shows up soon.

I woke up in St Andrews this morning, checked this message, and thought "oh crap, hope my stuff is still there". And it was.
I didn't see it on this mornings outing. I will keep an eye out down here.

I bought some of these from a company in America on ebay. Easy to fit to any surfboard or paddleboard and you can lock it to your car or a solid fence with the cable provided.

I've also put all my boards on my home contents insurance as portable items, which means that they are covered if they are stolen and I have kept a note of the serial numbers of all the boards and recommend everyone does the same.

Luckily the community is still quite small so it's going to be quite hard to offload stolen gear without someone finding out.

Good luck getting the board back.

Stolen Board Found!

Word gets around quickly! My board has turned up - someone contacted us to say they knew where it was - it was a little worse for wear - a couple of small scrapes but still rideable.

Thanks everyone!

And my faith in Christmas spirit is restored. So pleased for you Lynda. Looking forward to seeing you give Rea a run for her money for the rest of the summer.

The brand is Board Secure, www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=boardsecure&e=com

They are based in the US but do ship to Aus. I've bought five of them (not all at the same time) and have had no issues with shipping. They sell them on ebay as well, just type in surfboard lock. Seller id is jantelma.

That's great Lynda - great news

Now can you all turn your minds to the fate of that 3pc Werner Nitro paddle of mine that I left at Bells last week? It's as long as a telephone pole so hopefully it too will turn up in the wash!

Much obliged
cheers

It's a miracle. Glad you got it back so fast, can you let us know what happened to the scumbag who stole it?

Is he/she as beaten up as your board?

Just received our order of Secure locks recommended by MBUZZ - totally awesome product and will work really well.

Definitely worth getting - ordered online and only took about 10 days get here.

If anyone wants to have a look at them - we'll be at the Vic SUP titles next weekend - just look for me and my battered Lahui Kai!
