With the crazy winds yesterday which whipped The Bay into a frenzy, I decided to a have crack across from Bundeena to Cronulla with the wind at my back.

I took DJ's tip from last month where he'd commented on letting the wind do the work and enjoying the ride so sat back and balanced, rode swell, didn't paddle 'hard' and it was good fun rather than chasing runs and not so much enjoying the moment.

Huge thanks to Cronulla Ferries for taking me and the 14' over on the last run before they cancelled their services for the day as they deemed it to dangerous to continue.

A bit of fun on a Sunday with some time on my hands ! Hope you like.

Nice work Chris, looked pretty sheltered around the point at Hordens Beach then it turned on the breeze. You got a bit of pace going after that. Inspirational, and I love the idea of using the ferry, paddling upwind would have been a challange.
Good edit and nice viewing.

Thanks Chris.. That was good.. Love the flapping boardies..

I had a wild little DW'er today.. No camera so maybe that's why it was so good..

Not long....more time in the logistics than the run itself to be honest.

Was 3.5km in distance and took 22 minutes from wharf to wharf.

The ferry left Bundeena to return to Cronulla approx 5 mins before me and it got back in approx 2 mins before me so I actually crossed faster than it however it didn't straight line it like me as it followed the channel which has two 90 degree kinks in it.

Was damn fun to be out there with 80km + gusts !

Credit to the Ferry guys who came out to me on the tinny 2/3 of the way across to make sure all was OK.

To me, new to SUP, that looks like a heck of a lot of fun. You and DJ make me reassess what I want in a first board. Maybe I need more than one. Oh no....

Yes, one board is never enough....says me of all people !

First question usually is 'Chris, are you a shop'.

Ferry was $6.15 and $3.00 for the board - I thought good value for the fun I had.
