Wow you right there S4F, tough draw, I'm sure Dave would be thinking the bigger the better so he can throw his weight around, it's not like Kai (in particular) is not used to big swell though.

Interesting to see that a couple of big names in kiting Kai and Airton Cozzolini are so big on SUP as well.
Airton burst onto the kiting scene in 2011 taking out the KSP (kite surfing pro) world championship.

Surprised and stoked to see Japan's Kohei competing. That guy is insane in massive rights. Not sure if he knows how to compete. But fear won't be a problem with him.

Argh, Kohei only caught one wave in his next heat.

Still, check out the guy's website. Fearless...

They both just smashed it!!!! Unreal. Some big bombs came their way in that heat and they took them on at full pace. Respect. Nice work fellas.

What's with the heat draw? It seems you keep surfing against the same guys till the finals.

You come first or second in the first round and you are in the same heat in round three, come first or second in that heat and you face each other again in round four. So you potentially surf against the same guy three times.

Just seems odd.

Big Wave Dave just got a bomb to move from 3rd into 1st with a 9.15. (16.65)
Kai 2nd 15.8.

If these two were to go right through to the final it would be the 6th time they would come up against each other.
