We have had an interesting week after council has reconsidered all beach permits. Our current permits have changed and our new locations are:

1). Kawana Beach: North of the Surf Club.
2). Mooloolaba Spit
3). North Shore to Twin Waters.
4). Possible permit for the Anne Street Currimundi area. (begging for this)

Both Happy Valley and the Maroochydore River Mouth are currently not available until Council does their own risk assessment for allowing clubs to be in areas heavily used by public and marine traffic. They will let us know after they have done their assessment latter in the year.

This Sunday we are looking at doing the BOP at Kawana (Churches) near access 212)
After this we will have a social surf.
The venue will be confirmed here on Saturday and also by email to club members. If the surf picks up where as it is not appropriate for larger boards we will move the race to Mooloolaba Spit.

Race will be three laps of a M shaped surf paddle course.

Look forward to seeing as many members there as possible and also any visitors.

This Sunday is meant to be a mirror image of today. Churches (Buddina access 212) looks like the it will be great for the race. This was the location of the State Tittles today.

We done to Roachie for winning the over 40's today and for PT coming in 4th. Also well done to to Geoff for 4th place in the open men's.

After the race we will have a social surf.

I will be down thee setting up just before 8am if anyone wants to help.

If for some reason the swell lifts and we need to move I will post at 8am here otherwise it will be at Churches.

Shame on you Swanie, the Paton's are Sunshine coast royalty!!!!! I remember old man Paton body surfing Carties at 5-6 foot when he was 70 years old.
PS Pulled my hammie on Wednesday at footy training, so I'm going to have to walk in BOP race tmw.

Fun event that all 12 or so paddlers seemed to enjoy! Some mayhem with some dumping sets every now and then.
Thanks to Swanie and Luke for organizing.

Awesome Fun! That was a sick little race, I had a really good time today, Definitely got the blood pumping!

Jonesy smashed it! good work bro. I got some serious work to do to get even remotely close to catching you.

Big Thanks to Anthony the club president for again putting in so much effort on the beach and behind the desk on a weekly basis to make theses days happen.

Looking forward to the new structure of the clubs events that will incorporate BOP racing, Surfing and Down winders through out the year

Its a great way to spend a few hrs on a Sunday morning.

Right setting the alarm now and staring some serious training as of tomorrow!

Great effort from everyone today. Met some new and great people today. Look forward to seeing them in the club.

Special thanks to PT for being chief Judge with the apprentice Marcel. Also a big thanks to Marcel for obtaining the race cans. Good idea on the handicap race style PT as it helped level all the different board length in the race.

Ryan, deserves special mention and thanks as us (the older crew) stood and watched you paddle the 20kg weights and can out behind the break. You provided a great service and comic relief. Really we were using it as a plan to exhaust you before the race to increase our chances . End of the day prooved this not possible as you came 3rd overall and then proceeded to paddle the 8 to 10 KM home back to Maroochydore after the event. Great effort and a paddler to watch out for in the near future especially with that sick looking brand new 15'6" DC you got this morning. DC not in pictures below but I am sure some would like to see some photos if you have any.

The camera played up after this so we missed some classic waves and race battles. 2 of the best I saw were JT on the 12'6 DC and Luke on another 12'6 DC.

Great effort from Jenny as our only female competitor on the day. Split webbing on the thumb and a trip to the docs put an end to assault on the day. We look forward to seeing you at the next club day. I have another in training to take you and Sue on in the near...future...

Kev was the dark horse. Using his surfing skills to bring in the field on each round and then the walking beach leg still saw him come in fifth on the day.

I am not sure of all the results as my kids trashed the result sheet before I got to the computer but I think it was Allan or Luke who got the other podium result.

As always, thanks Luke for the help with the day and the club. Train hard buddy as Ryan has bolted from the gates after today and his effort at the Speed series final.

Jonsey was the stand out and we wish him luck on his trip to Hawaii. Anyone who wishes to support his and Woogies trip are able to buy some tickets in a great raffle at Ocean Addicts Maroochydore this week. Over $2000 in prizes.

The day was a lot of fun and something that we will do again soon. I am sure all club members will enjoy it once tried.

Next club day is on the 14th of August. (The week after the Coast of Origin). This day is set down for a expression session (best wipe out, longest ride, best maneuver etc etc) or a surf comp.

We look forward to seeing you all there. New members are most welcome.
