January Club Day
Happy New Year to All. I hope Santa was good to everyone and we have some cheer left to get together for our first club day for 2011. The format from the last day was well liked so we are going to do it again.
Club Day: Sunday 9th of Januaray
Meet up time: 8am
Location: With the light southerly it is looking like we will be at Maroochydore River Mouth. If there is a weather change I will let you know. Otherwise I will see you there.
We are going to have a fun team comp. This format means that even the most average surfer can win the day or be on the winning team.
Format
At 8am we will make the teams. The comp will be a team surf comp. Each team member will take turns to paddle out and during their time they can catch a maximum of three waves. When they have caught the wave that they want to have scored they raise their paddle and then paddle in. If they decide to go for their second or third wave then they forfeit the points of the previous wave. If they go for their 3rd wave then that is the one that counts even if it is a wipeout. Greed here can be your downfall here.
The points of your scoring wave will go towards both your teams score and your individual score. If we have a tie on individual scores then we will have a surf off.

If you are able to provide prizes please let me know and this will go out on the email prior to the comp day.
We will finish the day with a social surf and expression session. During this time we will have a social comp at trying to acheive certain manoeuvres.

January Club Day
Well it is a wet and windy weekend.
Club Day: Sunday 9th of Januaray (Tomorrow)
Meet up time: 8am
Location: Maroochydore River Mouth. Meet at the Boat Shed.
Depending on the conditions the format may vary. If all meet at about 8am at the Boat Shed we can decide on the format. It may also consist of a flat water race so bring a long board in your quiver aswell.
The beach may be blown out which means a comp or social surf can happen at the Sand Bags. With the tide pushing in it should create some waves and will be protected from the SE winds.
I have the flu so will not be there. Luke and Hayden will organise the activities.
