Hey Al you have to have a Queensland residential address or you can compete just don't qualify for QLD state.
A question,
In the 17km Long Course, it has (8 x spots for the qld team) but I presume Travis and Jamie will get wild cards.... so is it still 8 spots or 6??
Cheers Jonesy
Latest thoughts on race conditions?? Is there any chance it will be too big and turn into a river race??
Isn't swell direction turning onshore?? Even with the drop it will amount to bigger than what goldy is seeing now?
Here is the latest forecast. What do you reckon they will do - try and finish it up by Sun Arvo?
The down winder would be interesting if held on Monday
Surfing:- 16 entered in the 0ver 40's so far and 16 in the open mens , good show from the old blokes. Monday looks like a pulse so the comp may be shifted to Monday , Surfing Qld will make the decision late this arvo.
Heres a big tip for anyone going in the Xcel race on Saturday the Cooly Rocks on festival is on as well so it will be mahem trying to get to Snapper Rocks!!!
My tip would be to go via the back highway M1 and take the Kennedy Dve exit which is just after you come out of the tunnel going south past the back of the airport and go through Tweed Heads to get to Snapper and get there early as they get over 10,000 people in Coolangatta. Also get someone to drop you off as parking is normally at a premium during the weekend events.
Good Luck.
With all the street closures in Coolangatta tomorrow the only way to get to Snapper is past the Twin Towns Services Club.
Sup Surfing:- will be on the Monday only starting around 7.30 am , 20min heats. Ring Surfing Qld hotline ph.30306388 after 6.30am on Monday for exact times and place of the event
Over 40's up first ,Goatie you are heat 3 , I'm in heat 4 with Pete Turner , Brad & Pat. It's 5/ 4 man heats with 16 crew so there is still 3 spots for late entries , lets go boys if you haven't entered let's fill the spots.
