Is there any chance that, if we have northerlies but little or no swell, the surfing can move down to Johanna? I expect that this may be difficult, with the marathon and technical races being run, but it would be a great option if available and practicable.
Ross, have a look at the swell charts...there will be swell no worries. Not massive but should be real fun!
Both days looking good with Saturday slightly bigger but the Easterly "might" mess things up late from
lunch onwards. Sunday looks fun all day. Fingers crossed! Who would have thought...warm weather,
light winds and swell on the west coast. That combo isn't common on the west coast.
Super Pumped!!!!!
It would be good if we had the option to move the surfing to the 13th Beach area. With the wind looking like
it will mainly be from the N to E that would be a better option.
Point Danger wouldn't really start working until 12pm due to low tide being in the morning which means the wind
is more likely to have some east in it. Hope this isn't the case!
Regardless, it's going to be a great weekend! Almost every star is aligned!
Well, I'm in Perth at the moment and it has been a pretty warm day...I will try to bring the hot weather back with me later in the week...
.. With some swell too.
Swell is on the way up for sure small but should be cleanish depending on what time of the day the surfing is held.
Johanna would be alltime Ross but permits and travel time would be the issues
Looks like the best conditions we have had in 4 years.

Luke is most definitely a Vicco and proud of it.
He's just temporarily residing in Bananaland.
And he doesn't end sentences in "Ay"!
I was born and lived in Melbourne for the past 31 years, I own a house in Mornington that is my primary residence. My licence is vic, my cars are vic rego I'm Victorian.
I have a building company that does projects in VIC and QLD so I do a lot off travel between the two states. But VIC is my home.
I was only asking about qualification out of interest not trying to take someone's spot.
I have only been into SUP for 6 months and don't see my self at that level yet.
If the answer is Collingwood:
The following applies:
The entries have closed sorry you just missed out
Your board appears to be way too long to fit in any van we can find
Unfortunatly your accommodation has been double booked
There is no swell in the current forecast for the surfing and quad overhead during the technical race and marathon.
Man you have bad luck
And if your answer is the Storm then you're confused, your allegiance should be to a different state, you are un-Victorian and you don't qualify for the State titles at all!
REVISED:
The following applies:
The entries have closed however we can make an exception
Your board appears to be way too long to fit in any van we can find, however there is room in the judging tent
Unfortunatly your accommodation has been double booked, however we have been able to upgraded you
There is no swell in the current forecast for the surfing and quad overhead during the technical race and marathon, ther was a glitch on coastal watch looks like in might be great for all 3
Man your in luck
Haaa does it help if I tell you I did my apprenticeship and lived in jan juc when I was 20.
But I guess I'm a peninsula boy now so you might hold that against me
If I were Max I'd be scheduling the surfing to start first thing Saturday morning while the wind is light and closer to the north.
The marathon would be good in the arvo when it gets windier more from the east.
We couldn't ask for a better forecast, things are looking very promising!
Thats a top idea Brendan to get surf contest in the best possible conditions will bring out the greatest potential to see awesome sup surfing which is what the surf event is all about
bop race in the afternoon, even if wind comes up and the big one, the marathon on sunday morning, could be done straight after a marathon at the Torquay pub, just like the old days
Ah...the other thing I forgot was if surf was run in the morning then tides will be too
low at Pt Danger or Draino's.....BUT Torquay Point could be extremely fun!
Spot on about the wind Simondo...hopefully the conflicting charts at the moment mean
no wind most of Saturday, perhaps variable at worst.
I will assume that all you guys canvassing for a change to the Marathon timing are registered and actually prepared to paddle the course when it is less than ideal and possibly blowing onshore for 20km. Or 34 degree heat for 2 - 3 hours, that's always fun.
Both Magic Seaweed and Windguru have the wind out of the north all day on Saturday, lighter in the morning, increasing during the day, stronger again on Sunday. With a top temp of 34 I cant see too much sea breeze in the offing. But I have been wrong before!!
Bottom line is Saturday looks like the day, run the marathon, kick the surfing off at Danger some time after ten and run it through to stumps. If the sea breeze kicks in call it off and regroup Sunday. Its looking like a freakin epic weekend and we should all be able to pick the eyes out it if we're patient and adhere to the horses for courses theorum.
Cheers

I am hoping that it will be out of control onshore crap, because that is what I am use to every time I do comp. I would not know what to do in clean offshore conditions!
Hey guys,
Does anyone know can you enter Sunday's race on the day or is there a way of doing a late entry for two people,
Cheers
