I just came across this vid about a guy that broke his back surfing a beach-break and caught it all on film.. It's worth watchig.. Take care out there.

Sheeiit. A very sobering video.
Have had arm or leg injuries while wavesailing but still managed to get back in due to onshore winds and some good luck. Don't know what I'd do if something like this happened.
He was so lucky there were others around who could help.
James Taylor is one of the local Cape Town Big wave crew. He's well on the mend and just recently was sailing through the Bassas da India with fellow Cape Town surfer Frank Solomon when the filmed this little video on route
I'm guessing the water went slightly yellow.. 
Good to hear that he's getting better.
