If anyone hears of any info on how the race is going can you please post.
I've heard from jacko and he said it was HOT with hardly any wind. Gonna be a long slog on a 12'6 board.
XX angie
there are some photos and peoples comments being posted on a live coverage on www.surfski.info , it will become more open mens ski focused once they start i suggest.
They're not watching the sup on that site... No updates :(
Not quite the coverage like we see for the bop unfortunately
It's pretty hot and muggy over here, breeze is fairly light (but a reasonable direction) and not a lot of swell so yeah it's going to be hard work with a fair amount of paddling I would imagine.
What's happen, it doesn't even have jacko as starting?? Were they super strick on safety gear needed?
The results on ocean paddler site are wrong. Jacko was 10 min approx in front of Bart. He was 1st overall Sup and 1st to cash can. Presso has just been run and jacko walked away with a nice 3k!!! Nice work for a guy that trains SUPER hard everyday. I'm sure he will post more when he can. X
Well done Jacko. Much deserved! Travis also smashed the OC1 race. Good to see the Goldy guys getting amoungst it!
Well done Jacko!!! and well deserved too after how hard you've been training!
Awesome to see another win for Queensland!
I got a few times from the timing site.
Paul Jackson 2:49 12'6
Bart De Zwart 2:53 12'6
Andy Davies 2:55 12'6
Courtney Gray 3:00 Unlimited
Scott Mckercher 3:05 12'6
Jonathan Cowcher 3:17 Unlimited
Fernanda Gray 3:34 Unlimited
Courts won the dash for cash and Fernanda the only female.
I couldnt find Mike Galvin or Andrew Hills times.
Some of the other times seemed to have been botched up?
Anyway I reckon well done and a good effort to everyone who entered.
Congrats to Paul but how about Andy. His training from what I've seen is all about beer and pies.
Well done mate.
Sam.
Thanks Mate,
You would have smashed it if you made it over!!
Thanks to Hilly for putting me up at his place could not have met a nicer bloke! If it wasn't for him it would have been sleeping in the back of my Taxi/ stolen station wagon
Also to Belly and Dean the Beer support Crew legends Yeeeewww!!
Well Done Jacko,,
Huge effort as he took a really wide line out in front and still smashed it!!
And to all that just made the paddle across was an accomplishment as was a pretty hard paddle with not much wind.
Especially a guy called Adam who did it on a 12'6 surf SUP MASSAIVE!!
Found a few pics of the Sup's
A few different rocker lines custom 12 6 Fanatic used by Andy Davies(3rd) on top 14 glides below

Briefing you go that way :-) Actually the first leg to fairway buoy was hard in 25 knots would have been torture
Adam great effort to finish on the starboard, the boss gave the ok for newer model I believe.
Zimbo nice shoes eat you heart out DJ
The crowd was tense with anticipation
Luke pumping up the arms
Everyone heading out
For you DJ
Waiting for the start
Was head down bum up then so no more from me oceanpaddler has great footage I am sure more will sneak out of the actual race.
Nice little light wind dw paddle swapping boards with Travis, Jacko, Dale, Andy, Tim and Belly this arvo. Swapping DC 14, 16 & 17, Naish 14's and Fanatic 12 6 & 14. Learnt a lot watching the top guys stuffing around. Pity Travis snapped his paddle at the start but showed you can be damn fast sitting down. Andy was steering the DC rudder by hand behind him on runners
Thanks guys great fun Have a good flight Jacko will look after your board well
