If you ever imagined what a paddle in paradise is like, this is it: travel to Fiji in November for a week of stand up paddle racing, a surf exhibition at Cloudbreak and fun for all the family, The Namotu World Paddle Challenge Fiji is a groundbreaking event that will feature:
An epic 19 mile downwinder from the InterContinental at Natadola Beach to Namotu Island, aptly named, the 'Race to Namotu'
The Waterman League Surf Slalom at Namotu, providing a unique and technical course through the surf at Namotu Island, a piece of paradise deep in the South Pacific Ocean
A Surf exhibition event at Cloudbreak
A day of fun racing, relays and parties at Muskett Cove
Significant prize-purse
This week of activities is far more than just a race: it is a chance for paddlers from all over the world to congregate for some spectacular racing, but also and opportunity to take in the beauty and wonders of Fiji and have a relaxing family vacation with built in entertainment, in true Fijian style. To help enhance the experience, there are week specials available at Namotu Island, Tavarua Island and Muskett Cove, as well as at the InterContinental where the Downwinder will start and the Opening Ceremony will take place. There are good 12'6''ers and bad 12'6''ers if it gets the red thumb I guess the 12'6'' Prototype goes back to the drawing board. Thats how it works I think no use paddling a s##t board (Help Me Please Mr Wizard)

be careful with other peoples opinions Phil.....like Assholes everyones got one! There are so many varibales with 12.6s....they arent a DW board so dont expect them to be fastest at that, they arent a true flat water board so dont expect them to be fastest at that, they are a comprimise of paddle speed, surf-ability and paddle out through the surf stability/performance....at they end of the day the paddler has to feel comfortable with it.....You mentiond you know bugger all about them, but I think youd be a good judge. You have heaps of Surf experince, paddled many many kms on da ocean and have surf paddled prone boards...I think youll know if its good or not.

will it be the lightest fastest (in which catagory???) 12.6 ??? who knows, but I think to many get caught up in the hypothetical BS that they convince themselves one way or another...**** any board I paddle is slow....does that make them all bad????

I'm putting a Fijian Team together all rugby union players in the 100kg weight range some have never paddled a SUP before. (Help Me Please Mr Wizard) The locals will be laughing at my team I say we'll be coming last. But at least my team will have a go. Photo's of the Namotu SUP Team in 2 weeks
