The Final is tomorrow (Monday) at high-noon!
Watched the first heat today before it got too cold to be sitting around in shorts - Casso (Blue jersey) stood out I'd be surprised if he didn't make the final but I didn't stay to see final results of the heats.
Interesting to see that most of the guys that seemed to have boards sup 9' - how Casso rides a 8'6" is beyond me....
Final should be good tomorrow.
If your in the area there are some great looking boards around the Hightide guys are up from Vicco, his boards are b e a utifull - for any one that's seen it the pink board the artwork took 28 hours , I'll grab a pic tomorrow if I remember. (yeah I know it's longboards but it's still freaking nice)
Here are some photos from the Semis:

A bit hard to call, but this is how I saw it...
These guys are all on fire. It is all going to boil down to wave selection.
Appsy is stylin and charging hard. He only got 1 1/2 decent waves in his heat but smashed them both to go through.
Goatie and Dan were ripping - both masters at milking the little inside numbers (the sets were closing out)
Casso is definitely in form and is right up there in contention.
Dogman , I thought should have gone through.
Matt Granger was the master at picking the waves. He has only spent a few hours on his new board and was looking a bit wobbly backhand, if he gets it wired he will be a contender,
Beau was stylin but did not look comfortable.
Conditions should be good for the final tomorrow!
Come on down!
thanks for the tissues after my semi loss guys
i'm home after the long drive north
was great to catch up with all the crew and get dropped in on by 1000 mal crew over the weekend
loved it
good luck at 12 for the final
rock on

Photos AA?
was an epic final we had great lefts and rights and everyone was going 110% should be some video coming AA was filmimg and simon was also!!!
what a great event and a great 3 days the boys were ripping the bag out of it and watching yesterdays semi before i paddled out for mine was an unreal way to get amped for a heat go da sup!
Yep, great final. Beau was smashing it on the bigger rights. All the boys were charging though and it was impossible to call the first three. Great conditions too made it one of the better comps in a whilst. Videoed the final, just need time to get it off the camera and into a clip.
President of the Manly Malibu Boardriders - Lynden on the mic, Matt Granger (3rd), Casso (4th, Dan (5th), Beau (1st).
Missing - Goatman (2nd) and Appsy (6th)
Thanks again to Lynden and the crew from Manly Malibu boardriders club for including SUP since 2008!!
Great vibe, great location, great comp!
Congratulations guys!
Looking forward to watching the video AA - don't make us wait too long.....
PS - Nice to see what Dan can do when he has 3 fins!!!! hehehe!!!!
Really was an awesome comp. I filmed the whole thing ( Goaty's camera so up to him to put it up here if has time) and the standard of surfing was awesome. The whole new school/shortboard style of SUP surfing really is progressing.
Awesome final, could not pick it at all, love to see the scores, must have been pretty close!
i heard that goatie was up all night the night before the final going over all jedis footage looking for the weakspots in his competitors surfing!
im surprised goatmans alter ego snakeman let anyone get a wave at all in the final....lol....haha.....
well done to the grommet beau on taking out the retirement villagers
rock on
yes dogman there was some major hasseling going down in the final but its a comp so its gunna happen and goaties one of the best at hasseling was all in good sportsmanship though!
i wish i could hassel like him
" i wish i could hassel like him "
Um, but didn't you call him onto a wave that Casso was already on so that he'd get an interferance call marked against him?
...that's what I heard...
