Hi everyone
Long time reader first time poster.
I have been riding and surfing a PSH 10'6" waa for the last six months and love it but I want to step down into something more surf oriented. The board I was thinking of the 9"9" mano I weigh around 85kgs. I would appreciate any feedback on this board or any thoughts on other boards I should consider.
Thanks guys
p.s. surf mainly thirteenth or prk.

Hey Dasher,

(i'm 6ft, 105kg) I have ridden all of the boards suggested below in multiple sessions and wave heights except for the Naish only tired it 4 times in 3ft ish waves.

Naish wise the 9'6 mana is an option, stable but has lots of rocker and I found it quite agile for its width in smaller surf 3ft.

At your weight the PSH 9'6 wide AA is not much less stable than the 10'6W AA and is a great board and the the 9'6 W Ripper is all so great for surfing. I have owned and or surfed all these PSH boards in surf 6 inchs to at lease 1.5 OH+
9'6WAA

DC 9.4 is also an excellent board and will be a steeper learning curve but great in long term.

Plan shape comparison 9.6WR VS 9.6WAA

Demo Demo Demo and then Demo.

regards

Phill

Hey Phil
Thanks for the info. I have considered the PSh 9"6" wide ripper but I want to be sure it will float me okay and I won't be spending all my time in the water instead of on the board, but from what you say it should be fine. I will try strapper for a demo. thanks again

Hi Dasher,

I can highly recommend the 9'9 Mano. I have come down from the Starboard 10'5 Drive.
I am 5'10 and around 87kg and I find the Mano one of the most stable short board Sups I have been on. Far more stable than the PSH 9'6 wide ripper I used to own. The Jimmy also surfs better in the conditions I normally surf, 3 - 6ft.
The impressive thing about the Mano is how well it paddles and catches waves. The board has a heap of rocker, and still paddles well.
Other than that beg borrow or steal anything you can get your hands on to help make your decision.

Hey AJ
Thanks for the info on the mano. I have to say I'm pretty keen on the mano I really like the shape and I've only heard good reports. I will have to find someone for a demo ride. Thanks again
