Last Sunday there was a kitesurfing get-together at Brighton beach and due to no wind the kiters had SUP's to play around on.
At first all it seemed that they wanted to do was to be towed behind the boat and use the SUP as a giant wake board.
As I was heading off I saw some guy taking his daughter (who was laying on the nose of the board) for a paddle and all the boards were out as the young guys played around on them and finally realizing they they're good fun.
On Monday I drove down to Sandy Point were there was a windsurfing get-together and again there was SUP's there for them to play on while there was no wind to windsurf.
For those who've never been to Sandy Point here's a few pictures that I took..Sandy Pt is very close to Wilsons Prom..and when you get there the main road takes you straight onto the beach where you are alowed to drive.
Once on the sand I drove about a kilometer up the beach to the main car parking area..It was a beautiful day.
Looking up the beach.
Looking down the beach.
I haven't been to Sandy Pt for years and it's a classic speed sailing spot and that's the main reason that I ever went there..
My memeries of the place were like this.
Cool pic's and story once again DJ. What was the SUP session like there much marine life to see, is it any good for a downwinder when the wind is strong?
How is that rig hey, looks like an old Midget windsurf sail. 42kts in 17.5 kts thats nearly 3 times the wind speed, astounding and they broke it a couple of days earlier. Walvis is really taking over as the speed venue of choice.

Thanks for the great story and pics, DJ...as usual. Sandy Point is a great spot. The beach looks huge....why do they call it Sandy Pt, I wonder?
