The final details for the Paddle Pete Bilsborough at Palm Beach Sydney, this Saturday the 5th are as follows guys:

Final Details for Sat:
Event Details: Cost: $35 per paddler (incl $5 for insurance) rest of the money is donated to Pete.
Registration: 7am-7.45am - Pittwater side of palm beach, 200 mtrs north of Boat house cafe. Paddle Start: 8.15am (rolling ocean 200 mtrs out from south palmy break)
Long Course: See map, will go around Lion island and back into the pittwater side of palm beach. 200 mtrs north of Boat house cafe.
Short Course: See map, will go around barrenjoey point and into the pittwater side of palm beach 200 mtrs north of Boathouse cafe.
Logistics: Best plan is to register at Pittwater side of Palm beach as per above. Then drop your boat / board around to south palmy. Then take car back to where your registered so that it is there for you when you finish , and finally make your way back to south palm beach ( approx 10 min walk, or 2 min drive if you have someone to give you a lift back) to start the event.
Social Paddle and Demo time: 10.30am - Pittwater side of Palm beach 200 mtrs north of Boat house cafe. Boards will be available use for those who wish to demo any equipment. If you have paid registration in the race the demo is free. If not , to demo the boards for 45 mins will be at the charge of $30. All proceeds go to the Bilsboroughs.
Safety: It is advised that you wear a PFD when paddling, as we will be in the ocean, although use of a PFD is entirely up to the paddlers comfort level.
Weather: If conditions are looking bad, the call will be made friday lunchtime, and all relevant websites will be updated: Check on the facebook event "Paddle for Pete Bilsborough"

Looks like we will have some surf boats there from av, some blast paddlers, paddle boarders, and SUP's. I really hope it will be a great event for them.

Good job Pete on getting this going.

Looks like we should get a great run down the coast to Barrenjoey with just the right amount of upwind at the finish to be a proper Sydney SUP race.

Rose and I would love to come but can not make it as we are away up the coast. PM me your details (or are they the same as last time?) and we will drop some cashola in yr account.

Hope you get good conditions and a decent turn out.

Kev.

Hey Pete,
You do a great job organising these fundraising paddles. What is this one fundraising for?

this is for a family in avalon. Pete the Dad was injured horrifically in a surfing accident on the easter long weekend.
His daughter is a mate of mine. Rower for avalon. She actually saw the palmy guys working on someone, but did not realise it was her Dad until later when she came down to find his car still there a while later.
Really sad stuff, and I just thought it would be a boost for them for the local community to come together to show them people out there are thinking of them.
So i am really hoping it goes well hey. I know it will.
It will be the only weekend I will ever say "Huey hold back the swell please" and probably another weekend where he will not listen ha

Unfortunately due to pretty rubbish weather and ocean conditions, i have had to make the call to postpone tomorrows "Paddle for Pete" to the

Saturday 26th June

Hopefully will see you there. There will be a raffle for a Kiola paddle kindly donated by Wind Surf and Snow, and lots of other stuff on the go.

See you all there.
Pete

Thanks for the update Pete - looking at the forecast and cams today looks horrendous.

As I said I will keep you posted on that last weekend in June.

Good call - I think I could paddle down the road at the moment.

I thought it didn't rain in this country?
