This is the Von Copter on the job at the Burleigh Heads single fin comp . Day one was shot from a boat offshore day 2 was from the beach we had permission from the contest organisers and plus we also had a Casa licensed pilot.
Great footage Piros.......Looking forward to seeing the Von Copter at the 12 Towers Race after you step off the Bell Ranger!
Loved the underwater ??? shot.
Always great to see your vids Piros... lots of effort to entertain us...Thanks!
Great videos! So many questions:
Is that your QuadH20? If so, do you like it? am I correct in thinking it can't take a Gimbal?
How do the ESC's go when it gets warm?
I keep thinking about getting one as I like the security it appears to give over water. My Scarab airframes would just sink like a stone. Not that it stops me flying over water
That is great. Thanks Piros.
Amazing what can be done these days. I wonder how good you have to be to be able to fly the camera down the wave in parallel with someone on it?
I saw some footage of a yacht park prior to Key West this year. (
Bloody Hell Jezza where did you find that , I do have a much larger copter can carry a 6kg camera never thought of putting a machine gun on it.
Lordrumpunc I have seen that video (pretty cool) and it just comes down to practice. I can launch mine from a moving boat and that’s the aim to follow boats and surfers at speed. Trust me it's bloody hard to get it to take off & calibrate from a moving vessel and then land again. The video below is one I did of my boat for an Ad in boatpoint it shows me controlling the copter from a high speed boat.
Rosobot yes it is the H20 , it can take a gimbal but you can't protect the control board on the gimbal if it gets wet but the rest of the gimbal would be fine. Gimbal is not always the go if you look at my video I changed the camera angle by powering up and down pretty simple way of doing it and the ESC's are vented through the side of the body with cool fins and sealed with silicon..
The russian vid is a (well done) fake, but if you want to see what the futrue holds, please watch this impressive research presentation:
