Yesterday I took some pictures of my new waterproof case for my iPhone.
I've been looking for a while now IMO this case was the best option.
What are others using?

Seems like a good idea for down winders etc, but personally I would be going and getting a $50 prepaid mobile rather than taking and expensive iPhone out on the water.
I used a cheaper option that I bought on ebay, used it twice and pulled my nokia phone from the case after going out only to see my phone it swimming in it. The best waterproof case for an iphone is in the car imo.
Laurie you need to pull this thread immediately from the site. I have been keeping such technology from my wife as long as I can.
Good one Clarky.........lol......
You can buy these pouches at BCF. You can trust their waterproofness, they will not let water in. I have been belted in the surf on my downwinder more than once and the board might break but the phone is always fine!
Yeah the one I got from BCF has a headphone jack in the bottom so you can listen to tunes while paddling. Also got some water proof Sennheiser headphones......Its a work phone though so I really hope it doesnt leak.
PROTIP: Chuck in one of those bags of silica that you get in the box when you buy electronics and stuff.
Guys,
The ewa-marine product has been around since 1969 they are the inventors and inovators of the flexible housing, started out by making housings for SLR's then moved on to Video and other electronics.
Every housing is manufactured from German materials and HAND MADE in the ewa-marine factory in Munich Germany.
All photographic and video housings use OPTICAL GLASS ports and NOT plastics, thus having no loss of picture quality.
ewa-marine have been supplying such industries as Defence, Primary Industry, Minning and Film.
Just remember "Buying quaility will ALWAYS give you the BEST value"
I got this Iphone app the other day and just used it for a quick paddle on the lake.....Its rad, tells you your average speed, top speed, distance travelled, it shows your track on google earth and it even plays your tunes so you dont have to open another app. I'll post up some tracks when I load them up to my computer but I just thought that some of the guys here that have their Iphones on them when they paddle would get a kick out of this.http://gps.motionx.com/activities/other/2009/kayaking-with-motionx-gps/
Can I be the party pooper and say being out on the board is a great escape from the bloody phone.
Cheers

Hey Dr Funk just did the same...
I've always loved a gadget. But I think this one could be a good little motivation tool.
Don't worry about the waterproof case, buy a sonim, waterproof for 1m for an hour, it has a three year unconditional guarantee!
I am using two iPhone cases, a silicone case and a waterproof case.

This is the OverBoard Mp3 / iphone case and waterproof headphones that i use. Waterproof to 6m, floats and comes with a lanyard, plus neoprene arm band. I also use these cases for my car keys and it certainly beats hiding your keys under the car!
For the iPhone, I recommend Aquapac, it's vastly cheaper than than H20.
They didn't have the version with headphone liner in the shop and there isn't one for the iPhone yet, but I couldn't wait, so I bought a generic one that's slightly too big, but that's all right.
It's got an arm band, the touchscreen of my iPhone works through the plastic and in water and you can simply blast your music through the speakers (I don't think mic and speakers work for other pouches).
Might not help everyone, because it doesn't have the headphone connector, but I don't think riding with isolating headphones is a good idea anyway as you should be aware of what's going on around you...
Hi DJ,
I use the OB waterproof ipod case purchased from BFC. To make sure I didn't wreck my iphone the sales person suggested I test waterproofness first. I stuffed the pouch with paper and took a long bubble bath, periodically pushing the pouch to the bottom and holding it there. No water through to the paper so I have been using it out on the boards ever since.
As Coast said, The pouch floats as it has air-filled panels around the edge and it has an earphone jack out the bottom. I have never used the earphone jack, and due to the rough treatment I give the pouch (throwing it in the wet buckets in the van etc) I reckon the jack is the most likely failure point. It is already looking a little dodgy in that area (after about 6 months): might have to take another bath?
I don't like a phone call ruining my paddle & would rather the sounds of the environment than music when paddling, but when we have clients out on the water it is a policy requirement that we have some communication in case of emergencies. It is also great to call ahead to make sure the 'horse & carriage' is on site waiting to take the clients on the second half of their 'tour'. (no pimping!).
I can easily use the touch screen and hear through the plastic, but a little hard to read text messages and not possible to take photos as the back of the pouch is solid white. I attach it to the shoulder strap of my camel pack with a big clip.
Hi Mel.. It's smart to do the test thing first.. I've tested some of those roll down types and they've leaked..
It's amazing how well the sound comes through these cases so there's no need for head phone wires.
I've been paddling and listing to the latest Sade album and it seems to add to the paddling pleasure..
