hi, got a question for you. a well know shaper of many craft( not dc) reckons a fin right back will lift the nose on a board, where as i fin pushed forward will lower the nose rocker, but is harder to keep straight (this when under paddling). before i heard this i found a normal surfing sup paddles like a dog with the fin back. any thoughts
cheers
interesting debate although i do recall at the malfunction race travis's fin screw hole bit broke and his fin slid to the back of the box and then pivoted back on the pivot pin for a majority of the race. he still managed to beat home california Kyle to the shore
The testing I am doing is on flat water only, its the starting point to making more accurate assesment. When you start adding variables it becomes too hit & miss when comparing hardware.
At this point I am looking at board speed powered by man only......no wind or waves.
Then I will adapt what is learnt to other types/uses of boards as relavent.
Hey Dean.. Out of those four different fins which one do you think works best?
I'm guessing the dolphin fin shaped fin..
DJ
I am trying to get my head around the red one. Is that a removable fin or is it actually glassed into the board?
Are these all fins you made yourself or can you actually buy these shapes somewhere?
