Looks like Starboard are pushing the design front again:)
personally i think all race brands are pushing designs. dc, fanatic, lk to name a few.
the one common theme in most is the broader noses which granted starby kicked.
i feel starby stalled a bit last year with the all stars. it was surprising they went narrow nose on the all stars when they had so much success with the wider nose concept.
i don't think we will see a brand so advanced like starboard were there for a couple of years.
i'm interested to see what naish will come up with. the le series was good but limited to ultra skilled and lightweights.
that new board does look good.
Another nice find DJ! That board looks sweet wonder what the dims are?
Did anyone notice the nose of Travis's board, looked very hull-ish
Is that Marcus?
Yeah it is, he finished just behind Zane. Not a bad effort for someone who also has a full time job and pays for a lot of his own travel.
Haha that's me alright! Was hoping no one would notice cause I'm barely paddling there. We had a 3 way battle between Zane, Tomo (Japan champ and bloody legend) and me up to that turning bouy. If u notice how hard I'm sprinting in the background of the previous shot that's why I'm like that!! I only just got Tomo bout 100 meters from that bouy but I had nothing left to try and pass Zane. Was so much fun and pain all at once.
Yeah not looking forward to goin back to that full time job surf4fun!!
I do pay for most of my travel but I have some legends in a shop in sth freo, a WA paddle co. and a legend east coast shaper who really helped me get over here and I'm so great full.
Everyone in WA has been so supportive to me also so thanks.
Heading over to Molokai in a few hours for the big one. So nervous and excited at the same time!
