Call me a wuss but I can't wait for Summer.. .. I fell in on our down-winder yesterday and got an ice cream headache.

That sure looks good Dean and I wish it was just down the road from where I live.. You lucky bugger..

It looks brilliant Dean, but for some reason I would never even attempt Bells beach. I think coming to surfing later in life means I kind of hold that place in awe, as a break for "real" surfers . Plus the looks and comments I get on the kneel down/ stand up boards at Pt. Roadknight are enough let alone what I'd get at Bells

That is the beauty of a good size ground swell at Bells.......it's an awsome long fast wall, time & time again. You have to be there to really appreciate the wave.....yes your right, it never gets boring.

Todays shot of the "1 to 1.5m" swell croped a little so you may see the guys in the lineup.

Looks nice Dean. I thought the west coast would be going off. I had the board in the car and was tempted to leave the office at lunchtime. From the centre of the city in the middle of the day it only takes about an hour to Torquay...but got caught up and couldn't get away until after 3. By then it was too late for the west coast for me.

Not sure if the swell kicked a bit more late afternoon, because Michael and I went down to Flinders for a really late one, hoping for Big Left. But when we got there a bit before 5pm it was closing out right across the channel. We ended up at Gunnery, but had a pretty good hour in reasonable waves. Got our dozen waves each, so the drive was worth it.

Not me, that's for sure!

- same pic ?? Well we consistently get SW swell lines over a reef that doesn't change much. But you are welcome to believe it is the same pictures recycled !

A long long time ago I worked in Melbourne, and would find myself staring at the ceiling asking myself "why am I here" whilst day dreaming about waves down the coast. I lasted about 1 year... (This was prior to email and Internet so you couldn't even pretend to look busy!)

A good way to help you through winter is a top dollar wetsuit purchase (or sniff around for a cheap top line suit off season). Also 1 cold and flu tablet with "the real PE" will get you pumped in the surf if the lungs are not 100%.

A cliff view top of todays smaller swell at Bells.....lots of grovelers going unriden.
Even with wind gusting 30+ knts its still plesant sup in the lee of the cliffs.
