a year of designing and testing, mikes board, the mango and my 14'( the rocket) and this dc17" is the result. sorry about poor photo's. the dihedral is 8" thick and is integrated with the nose design
Superb looking board
I really like the the nose design and front section of the board as it slopes into the into the paddler's "cockpit" or "standing zone".
awesome cooours too.
Crazy! I don't know much about distance boards but it looks fast, something between a Naish Javelin and SB Surf Race.
Must be hard to shape and THEN glass with all those different lines.
NICE!! I cant wait till Saturday either!!!!! Love the spray job...it looks like "heat blast" from Ben Ten ( i have a 4 year old, ben ten gets played alot in our house....., for those who dont know he's a super hero!!)
Lacey she looks a real beauty,i feel your stoke, truely is there anything more joyful and exciting than a new surfstickgo have fun for all of us.
Wonder how long it will be until he lets me have a paddle on it?
I have a DC17 also, it's fast but this one looks like it will leave it for dead. If you have paddled with Lacey you know he will not hesitate to use his advantage to leave you behind. His waxed banana rocket 14 is ridiculous. Dale paddled that board on the weekend and left everybody scratching their heads.
I guess this means until I upgrade I will be watching him disappear over the horizon from now on.
Had a quick blast on the 14' red banana rocket this morning. Explains something of why Dale just left us in his wake on Sundays Supsa race.
Keen to see this new one in action.
Love the colours, reckon that if I just keep paddling out to sea, maybe it will take me back to the land of HR Puff'n'Stuff...
I saw Lacey christen his new board in the creek this afternoon and it looks absolutely amazing. It cut through the water effortlessly and there was very little resistance on the nose and at the tail.
I will try and get some video of this board tomorrow as well as my new DC14 (Orange II) and post them.
We will do a few sea trials tomorrow and if it goes anything like my one it should be a keeper. He will be on this board when we do the beginners downwind session tomorrow - so come and see it for yourself, if you are interested.
my dream board- very fast and very stable and solid under foot. got one wave /runner and paddled back- at the end of the day, nothing beats lenght and a rudder
cheers
wont bother with any photo's, no need- the boards a dude. over hyped, slow, tippy and useless.best to put a stop on making any more of em i reckon
