. However you never know your luck in a big city
!! Your use of light and choice of colour, coupled with an individual impressionist style could be what the panel fancy that year!! Choice of subject matter also counts and surfing is an iconic Australian theme that hasn't been visited in the Archibald very often!! The painting doesn't need to look like a photograph, it needs to capture the essence of the subject - something your paintings seem do very, very well. Cheers and keep up the good work!!
