i went out for a quick surf on my 12'6. just got it back from the shop from a small paddle chop repair so i was keen of a couple of little waves.
as i was paddling out this kook on a mini mal was paddling for a wave straight in front of me. arms and legs all over the place- no chance of getting up.
as i steered away he kept following me, turn the other away same thing.
i jumped off and just he missed me. i gave him a mouth full, slap him around the back of the head and ordered him in.
dam that felt good. the kid was just about crying
cheers
ps. no, the truth is i was annoyed and i said what are you doing.
later on thinking about it i was ashamed of myself
You should be on that DC channel board and do a floater over him
Least you guys are getting waves not like flat WA
Think dales in the snapping booth now cutting out a new beast trying to get him down to 8 foot
Keep you posted with the pickys mind you will probably see be for me !!!
Sounds like he needed a little "education". Obviously the appropriate level for his age but "education" none-the-less. How will he ever learn without it?
everyone has to start somewhere at some stage.
At the end of the day, its a public beach and theres very little you can do about who wants to be in the water and on what.
You also need to be careful if you do mouth off to anyone, chances are there a kook for a reason, coz they've spent there time in various other sports than surfing...like boxing, as a mate of mine found out
As a longboarder we are always super cool when confronted be the KOOK.
We just have a friendly chat and educate them to find the BEST wave on
the coast, yes we supply a road map to the Alley, sorry Lacey another one
coming your way tomorrow
Lacey look out for more Long Loven as the Alley needs some Love
Wasn't it NE siht Out there? No One gets angry around the alley unless there are rocks involved.
Jacko
Shaun Thomsom included that senario in one of his books I read.
One of his golden rules were not to paddle through the break and get in the way of surfers riding waves.
Did you consider you could have reached the line up from a different angle and not got in his way?????
Not wanting to flame it up, or anything - but I'm v glad that I'm in Vicco. Sure, it's busy down here now (when it's 40C+ lots head for the water), but sounds like a f####g circus up there. Give me cold water any day!
yes i too am glad that the water is freezing and the access tracks are riddled with deadly snakes down here .
go on a forum and educate everyone on their responsibility to behave correctly in the water and have a whinge at the same time. im giving up watersports and am going to play cricket
You should have indignantly beat your chest and demanded why he did not recognise your exuberant self importance
