No Problem,

Tied up Saturday morning but happy to help out Sunday 14th and I am sure we can get the coconut wireless fired up!

Are you bringing a board or do you need one? If so what size brand board?

Hi Jeremy,
The bad news is tides for PRK & Lorne dont look too good next week & the swell is tending to be small, so the surf options may be at the "etc" locations.
The good news is the weather next week will OK & there is always somewhere good to paddle around here.
We paddle evey day & there is plenty of boards for you to try!
Cheers
Dean

I will be bringing my new 9 6 coreban . I have only just picked it up and i havent used it. My board that i learnt on is an 11ft jimmy lewis .

For surf i will try out my coreban. If going for predominantly a paddle i will still give it a go but it might be better to borrow a longer board. See how it goes.

CYA soon Jeremy

No big swells are due....

Roadknight is best on low tide, and likes a bigger swell to wrap in there, but it's surprising how fun it can be on smaller swells too, managing to trickle in. East & SE swells can seem to team up with small SW swells too.... it can still be breaking when you don't expect it to (but needs a low tide!). It's about 30 mins from Lorne.

13-18 mins out of Lorne you have Easternview, Moggs Creek, and Fairhaven. You can get a good view of these waves just driving along the Great Ocean Road, on the way to Roadknight.

Keep an eye on Cathedral Rock about 5 mins out of Lorne, but it's not really SUP friendly for a few reasons. Needs swell though.

10mins the other way is Cumberland River. A few minutes on from there is a little creek and beach, with minor potential.

At the 15-20 minute mark, you have a beach break at Separation Creek, and a little right hand sand packed beachie at Wye River which gets plenty of protection from NW to SW winds (our prevailing winds, depending on season - at the moment, most likely wind directions are SW to SE, with a bit of NE to NW some mornings)

After Wye, is Sawmills, a nice wave when the swell is running (but you are unlikely to see this break on this trip, and you won't even know of its existence).

Then Kennet River Mouth (mid high tide option), and Kennet River along the point (needs low tide, but also gets protection from NW/SW Winds). Drive out of Kennett, and there is a good viewing area off the point, and there are sometimes some bigger straight handers / right handers off that point. Rocky zone, take a little care, if you are adventurous. Guaranteed to have a wave to yourself here. It is exposed to all winds, so you need calm wind conditions.

35-45 minute mark are options at Skenes Creek, Apollo Bay, and Marengo.

If the swell is really small or dead flat at Lorne, and have time up your sleeve, 1hr 20 / 1hr 30 away from Lorne is Johanna, past Apollo Bay, and if you have a light NE/N wind (even E or NW is ok), you are bound to find waves.... This place is a swell magnet !

Awesome fun at Point Roadknight (prk) this afternoon. Small, 1-2 faces, but the Naish 14 is just the board to pick them off. It's an hilarious feeling trimming in the pocket with a monster 14 foot board !!
(Sorry Chuck for plugging Naish, but the 14 is a great board! )
PS - Conditions were about a 2 foot SW swell wrapping in, with a very light S/SE seabreeze which is clean cross/offshore.
