I made a paddle which I called "THE CRUTCH"
why... cause I made it from a pair of old alum. crutches.
It even has the degree bend built in !
ps ...
its collapsible ...
- and adjustable!
Hit your nearest thrift shop for a pair.
you just need ends which you pop rivet on.
The T is a gardening irrigation connector.
Looks like you flogged the foot rest off a wheelchair for the blade?
Nice paddle... hope it works well. Let us know how it goes?
Great job mizarc.. ..I remember when I thought that I don't need a fancy expensive carbon paddle and I made my own for about $50.
I made different lengths and different shapes to see what works best.. Arr those were the days..
I even used to think that my aluminum shafts had a pretty good flex to them..
DJ
Yeah I agree with you DJ.
But at first the only thing you want is to just get out on the water no matter how you do it.
Good effort Mizarc. But nothing beats the real thing. If you paddle your crutch then paddle a 400 buck carbon paddle you would be kidding yourself if you said your crutch was better.
Save your pennies and get a paddle that performs, helps proper technique etc etc etc the list goes on.
While we are talking homemade paddles vs carbon, does anyone else have any thoughts why a good carbon paddle would be benificial?
