this is my dream set up of surf equipment i hope to build up. i know i'm probably going to cop some stick for it, but here it is. in no real order

i have

a simon anderson shortboard.

a dc 8'6 step rail area pin which i've just nutted out for fins- a fantastic board to surf

a hurricane oc1- love the speed and endless runners in average size conditions these craft allow you to get. also great for your paddling

like to get these toys

a javelin - so i hopefully a can at least still see the behinds of all the better paddlers in front of me at training etc haha.jacko shouldn't be allowed to have one- it's un fair

a f16 for the big stuff- say no more

a dc 12'6 travis grant style bop dw board- a stable fast surfing racing board

i might add here that at sunday's club race which was an in and out race style, scotty did real well on the sb surf and wasn't that far behind for a bloke who doesn't train at all. to be honest as i was sitting out in the water being a human marker buoy it looked pretty good, so i'm wr, wr, wron, wron - wrong with my previous comments on the board. it goes alright

a dc 16 or 17 pretty much the same as the blue one i sold to get the oc1- an all round fast ocean board that will still hold it's own and be hard to better in the flats

cheers

I like the topic... here is mine

I have:

9'3 Naish
14' Naish Javelin

90Lt JP Twin Waveboard (windsurfing) and enough sails.

not really surf, but my sector 9 BHNC skateboard

I would like to:

Get a shortboard again, it has been many many years since I have owned one.

Maybe a 14ft Glide, however seeing as on the windy days I am always doing something else this may not happen.

Not sure if I will end up going smaller than the 9'3... hmmm. Gotta love toys.

Hey Andrew better add a dustbuster to your quiver. After 6 months off you may regret selling your Naish 11'6"

Pic of logo as below: Board is not in great nic however due to the history I have a standing offer from a guy for $800 as is. Restored who would know how much someone with too much money would pay.

The story with these was that it was a Wayne 'Rabbit' Bartholemew model and he actually received a letter from Warner Bros telling him to remove the logo due to a breach of copyright. Not a big deal but in the 70's a very big deal to surfing as nobody really though the real world even knew we existed.

Now Rabbit is a legend and Al Byrne larger than life legendary shaper also. Makes the board worth something even though it resembles a piece of burnt toast.

I had a few guys from the Burleigh single fin comp calling me, it's a 6'0 so is the perfect board for that event.

Secondly - back on topic - very very happy with my recently rebuilt quiver:

Ha ha, sounds familiar. Here's mine:

About 6 or 7 unused shortboards from 6.0 to 8.2, bunch of old goatboats for the kids and 4 SUPs:

88 DTM custom
89 Laguna Custom
90 Gun Custom
90 Coreban

Plus my Misses' 10.0 Oxbox and my 10yos 8.0 WOW softtop.

Plus kayaks, C1s, 4 mtn bikes and associated bits all in a very crowded double garage That's not even included the 4 kids 'toys'.

Oh yeah...about to get a new DTM 8.7 custom and would love a DW eventually!

I've been lucky enough to play around with a lot of short & longboards and more recently SUP's without touching the credit card much as I've been able to buy wholesale and trade without losing a lotta so after much internal debate, I've recently sold 15 boards ranging from old mals to fishes and my very last 2 Surftech Longboards are on eBay as I write.

I'm a SUP only guy now, loving the sport too much to ever consider crowds and flapping around grovelling ever again so I've arranged a quiver of SUP's for a semi kook with width and stability while I learn all that I can from you guys and at least 5 sessions of still water or beach break paddling / week - it's like being a grommet all over again.

It was about making every day a possibility to be in the water regardless of conditions, surf size, wind direction or whether ocean / beach or river.

So, the re-build has been completed with the hope of a 17' at some stage......

WAVES;

10' Naish Mana
11' Surftech Pearson Arrow Laird

WIFE & FRIENDS;

11'6 Naish Nalu (Definately my pick board if it had to be a one board quiver as it is so versatile)

LIGHT DOWNWINDERS & RIVER TRAINING;

12'6 DC

14' Naish Glide

DAY TRIPS;

14' Surftech Pearson Arrow Laird
