Here's the results of the women's elite final (I've marked the Aussies with a green dot for anyone who doesn't know them all).

... And the men's elite final. There's always a few timing chips that don't work, so not sure whether the guys at the end of the list (without times/places) finished and should be slotted in and the rest of the results adjusted, or whether they withdrew? (And sorry if I missed any of the Aussie guys by accident).

Only thing wrong in the mens was Jake was 7th and kelly Margetts 8th due to a contact in the run up the shute and Zane goes into 6th

Jim Terrell finished 69th as he and Jackson Shaw had a sprint up the chute together. Anthony Vela definitely finished as all his little grommies from his paddling group we're standing in front of me in the handlers area.

George and Rico did pull out though.

They're direct from the timing website
raceresults.eternaltiming.com/20130928_Rainbow_Sandals_Battle_of_the_Paddle.htm
And the same results are reported on SUPRacer
www.supracer.com/2013-battle-of-the-paddle-live-webcast/

But there's usually some issues with timing chips, and, for competitors finishing very close together, I'm not sure if the timing mat was directly on this finish line or out by a metre or two, so there could be a few mix-ups (but it's the only results list I can find so far).

It's saying Beau's 15th when he was 13th, but the times for 13th, 14th & 15th are actually the same? Maybe next year they need to time it to milliseconds instead of seconds to split up close placings?

I think the timing is done by an external company and all they can provide is what the chips record.

I'd love to say hopefully they'll correct it in the next few days, but I highly doubt it ... unfortunately I don't think we can really expect them to go through the results for 218 paddlers in the Elite Race heats, 110 in the Elite final and 484 in the Open Age race and check every single placing manually - it would really defeat the purpose of electronic timing, and from my experience with timing smaller races, a manual system without chips could easily result in a lot more errors, rather than less.

I'm pretty sure all the organisers would be checking carefully is the podium positions (which is unfortunate for the rest of the field) but there's just too much to do in a organising & running an event like this than spend hours sorting out the difference between 251st and 252nd place.

It is especially hard in a race like this where multiple people are coming in on the same wave together and it comes down to a sprint up the beach. At one stage there was 16 guys all on the one wave landing on the beach at the same time.

Have to agree with Ali on this one. At least it is better than the confusion from the Dr earlier this year, anyone remember that?

But have to say given the size of this event it is run extremely well.

Congrats to Travis. I'm sure he's stoked but at the same time wondering what his result would have been in Yesterday's race had he have not hurt his knee.

I'm sure Kai, Danny and Connor weren't that disappointed he wasn't there yesterday either..

I bet they were pleased he wasn't there!! He obviously did the right thing, coming in fresh - the others would have been half knackered from yesterday too. Good decision!

By the looks of those results, I'd be guessing 2nd, 3rd and 4th were sprinting up the beach trying to chase down Travis. Regardless super stoked for Travis considering he didn't compete in the BOP and obviously knew the only way to win was lead from the start due to his injury

Heard this afternoon that Riggs may have started with the wrong group - which unofficially makes Trevor the fastest overall in the stock class - way to go Trev!

What a great race , at times madness. I caddied for Jayden and that was a circus , just making sure you get the board ready before they get their and try to get a good possie for them. The relay today was the highlight of the whole event , some good set waves coming in every know and again to mix things up. Angie caught the wave of the day , great effort to hold it.Sondra for Lahui Kai paddled bravely i thought to give the the team a good chance of winning.Jayden Jensen was like the road runner going through the run phase , and made a lot take notice. Jakey was desperately unlucky in the bop basically paddling the whole way , think he caught one wave and was clearly fourth the whole race getting close to Danny for third but the pack well behind him caught up each lap with waves. He deserved to finish fourth , but thats racing , next race the waves may go his way Kai looked unbeatable all race and his Naish seemed to pick up the small bumps better than some other boards. Karla also was very unlucky with the waves and at one stage on the last lap if she had of got over a bump it would have been a very close race between the three top ladies.I think if the race had bigger waves Karla would beat Annabel. Great eventIm sure Kelly got sick of the reference to his age , the commentator loved reminding him , Lol. He was also showed that age is no barrier , if your Kelly that is Great effort from all the Aussies
