I notice a crimp on the face of my Kialoa paddle. I hasnt gone any further yet but looks as though it might. Any tips on resin fill or??? The impression looks a bit like a thumbnail line. Its away from the edge....ignore? or a stitch in time??

I would fill it with some aroldite.. and then put a sticker on it..

Are you in Melbourne?.. I'd be happy to look at it for you.

Welcome to The Breeze..

Ooops.. just noticed you're nowhere near Melbourne.. Oh well.

Who does your ding repairs down your way?.. Maybe they could look at it.

thanks DJ-your advice on an earlier forum was terrific when it came to cutting into my paddle and setting it up for a very small SUPer. Will consider araldite as there appears to be a small amount of burring. cheers!

A couple of coats of clear nail polish might also work if you just want to seal it.

I had my daughter buy me some white gloss nail polish for my white Naish board.. It's just a tiny ding in the rail and can wait but I just want to seal it.

Hmm not real clear-the learning curves yawns out in front of me.......perhaps the araldite solution!

Yeap.. Just mix a small amout of Aroldite and scoop some up with a match stick and run it along the cut.. It will be fine.

I wouldn't because it will be less noticeable after the repair.. You'll end up with a dull sanded area on a nice gloss paddle.

If you plan to sand the surface flush afterwards then yes.. I'd give it a light sand first to help the Aroldite stick (it should stick well anyway)

btw.. If you're going to sand it after I wouldn't use the 5 minute Aroldite because it seems to stay slightly rubberry.. I'd use the full strength stuff.
