G'day DJ I heard the sad NEWS about 3 weeks ago from my hawaiian mate Blair Thorndike who's also a hard core prone paddler. George Ramos is a Legend one the front guys behind the first even Molokai Kai'wi Channel Crossings he was a weapon of a prone paddler was well know for paddling the Molokai Kai'wi Channel without water now thats HARD CORE people used to shake there head at George for not taking any water. George Ramos I believe had throat cancer he had it for about 3 years he was in & out of remission a few times. Mate top guy he let me stay at his holiday rental across the road from Velzyland.

Also more sad NEWS I heard a few weeks ago Buttons Montgomery Ernest Thomas Kaluhiokalani (born March 30, 1959) one of the best surfers to ever ride a Single Fin in the 70's ripped Velzyland apart stared in the movie Many Classic Moments & a top bloke as well I've met him a few time is dyeing of cancer as well with not much time to live.

Life is short make everyday count play your ocean sports like a little grommet.

Absolute legend and can relate to wearing out the old videos. Thanks those who shared the clips above. A facebook page, In Memory of Buttons Kaluhiokalani has started up with some great stuff on it.
Rip In Peace Buttons.
