headin down the pen again, open beaches... if anyone is keen,, hopefully still a bit of the lumpy stuff left....
Hey Windy,
I'll be surfing Saturday morning for sure. Not sure where yet but maybe that same spot you surfed last weekend.
It won't be nearly as big but should still be fun at very few people in the water.
Stay in touch.

1-2' with sets to 3-4'. Clean.
4 SUPS. 2 old mals (the riders were old not the boards). 1 shortboard.
Kms of breaks to choose from.
How many more of these days can we have? Here's Windy taking off down at Portsea this morning. Oh the serenity.
Deeply distressed cause i thought it was "wendy miller".....& now realise its not some shapely female catching lots of waves but....instead its just "windy" ???
serenity plus
gold gold gold
how was the glass,,,
nothing beats seeing the ocean floor through the side of a wave
good to meet up again fellow suppers and share the stoke,, three weekends of perfection in a row, i've only been back an hour AND i want MORE,,, but my wife wants to kill me
i hope gavs lil cam worked and captured his first decent waves
bloody hell i think my paddle is too long!!!!!!
ha ha been called wendy b4
c ya soon G'room
BTW The stamina award goes to Oliver. He was out an hour before I got there and was still going hard when everybody else came in. That includes a shift of old mals and 3-4 changes of shortboards. Add to that he was a on a new short SUP which is always a challenge. Go Oliver!
Paying for it now Gorgo.
For the first couple of hours the 9'4 was really frustrating me. After that I stopped fighting it and it started to work for me. I've only been out on it a couple of times now. I still prefer my Stonker but will persist with it again. Yeah, certainly can't believe how good it's been for the past few weeks.
Here's a pic I took at dawn. When Miller, Freebs and I had total serenity - km's of glassy breaks to ourselves.
yeah the camera worked a treat, BUT, when i try and publish it the bottom half of the screen is green and the top half is all squished. I tried several things to no avail and probably should look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes.
Forget the gopro freebs. It's all about memories. AFAIC today I saw you get the wave of the day - great stuff.
Never done a video before, so its pretty bad. First video for some of my first SUP waves.
Hope it's ok.
Freebs, I loved the Vid. Makes me want to go for a paddle right now. Keep em coming.
It's exactly how my SUP sessions are - catch a few waves, then must be as I get tired fall off more and more and more....
Didn't seem to crowded so you must have come in with a smile.
Nice looking board. Looks like a timber veneer.
Great Work Aussie,
Keep the vids coming I like the time warp feel at the start! The cooler weather soon sorts the line up out! Here is couple shots from OG
Dave Arter seting up the left go right
The Chad this is a solid unit and he puts his heart and soul into nose riding and traditional surfing here he is walking back of the nose.
Kristi ah if we were all in the 40kg range lol
Bretho fisrt surf back after a serious op and headed straight for the nose on OG mush!
Well its off to the glassy flat water
Phill
Hey Freebs
That video was an absolute cracker, it captured all the elements of a great surf. Heaps of waves, plenty of stacks, a few running backwards off ya board, and most of all smiles and giggles with your mates. Tatally awesome. I had waist high cat bay to myself for two hours the same morning.
Looks damn fine to me. The waves in first part looked great ... and they weren't even set waves.
I could see me in the background and now the missus wants me to get a GoPro.
The water was champagne perfect. Fizzy, clear and not too cold. Just as well with Gav, Oliver and me doing numerous spontaneous SUP plops at times. I think Windy Miller was too busy catching waves to waste time falling in.
Freebs, i'm working all weekend so, i'll swap you! You sure look like your having fun.Man thats the number one thing
nice vid freebs, great first wave.... good to keep hold of the memories,,, specially ur first sup..
couple more sesh's and your balance will dialed in.
Photos from the same morning, just before I left. Apologies for the long distance shots but I only had a little point and shoot with me.

Windy Miller again in a perfect position, for what looks like a nice left. (below)

Great vid Gav. It's all about the fun you have out there.
So, who got down the east coast today...I think it was even better than yesterday. Yesterday I had a good 3 hour surf, first hour and half by myself.
Today my son and I had a really good session - 3 hours again, but a different spot. Blue skies, sunshine, crystal clear water, just a whisper of an offshore and a really nice, fast left hander. It is a bit amusing because where we surfed rarely gets short boarders out there, but after about an hour to ourselves we must have looked like we were having too much fun because we eventually attracted 5 short boarders. Still, the vibe was good and there were enough waves for all. The prone surfers were even hooting our waves, so definitely no complaints.
Give me colder weather and no crowds any day, I say!
Thanks for posting - great vid. I especially liked the camera angle when you pulled the board back to you by the leg rope after falling off. And also when you are trying to turn the board back up the right way. Great Cinematography !
Good work Gav! Stoked for you!
I'm going mad, to weeks now without a surf. Next weekend I'll make up for it.
