I was out around 2.30 teatree, that's not me I had a black tshirt on and the best thing was all the jetskis had just gone in and I had it completely pumping with no one out until two paddle surfers drifted in from the beach front, so stoked

It's a funny old place the Goldy I reckon Hilly. We were there last Mon when the QLD titles where called off for 'safety reasons' and at most you would call it 5-6 foot at Currumbin. In Sydney or SW WA that would mean a ton of options and generally straight forward paddle outs.

Currumbin that day had a sweep running so quick you could only just paddle against it on a SUP in some places, particularly behind the rock and no rips or channels to paddle out. I got smashed on one and got dragged 400 meters down the beach before I got in - I would hate to have broken a leggie. I guess unless you tow or paddle out to Bombies that is about as big as you can surf up there[}:)]

It's funny that the next day (Tues arvo) I had one of my local points nearly double the size but with bugger all sweep and a dry hair paddle out

I am just jealous of the waves, been nothing here for weeks. That kirra looked good if one can get out I would give it a go

Could you do a down sweep paddle and ride waves from snapper to main beach?

Hey teatree thanks for the pictures,
Was pretty fun out there but only managed to nab a few waves before dark.
Wasn't expecting it too be so big as reports throughout the day had said it was going too be dropping to 4 foot by the afternoon.
