Hey Mary, August next year?

I have been to San Sebastian 3 times over the past few years, and I have never seen a SUP in the area, or a shop with them, but of course that may of changed. I also went in winter twice, and you would be brave to be on the water in that weather...

Anyway, I have some business friends that live there that I will send an e-mail to tonight and I will get back to you if they have any thoughts.

Nick

May be worth checking out Zarautz as well, there are surf shops on the beach. It's a pretty good beach break. I saw a guy surfing on a sup, first one I'd ever seen, whilst surfing at Zarautz Beach (on a longboard) when we were there in 2006, which prompted me to buy my own sup the following year.
I would imagine that the surf shops would have sups now.
An Aussie guy has a surf shop in the famous surf town of Mundaka, well worth the trip if you're going to San Sebastian. It's only approx 100 kms from San Sebastian, although could take 2 hours if you go the coast road, 'cause of the numerous twisting little roads through the hills, but you'll see plenty of "playas lindas" with surf potential.
I emailed him last year & he has sups in his shop.
Here's his website: mundakasurfshop.com/?lang=en
?Buen viaje!

Hi,

The SUP in Spain is quite popular now, but it's way more popular at the mediterranean that in the north of Spain, where they're quite traditional, have good surfing conditions all year long, and are more reluctant to SUP.

Anyway you'll find a SUP for rent very easy.

If you want some address, let me know.

Thanks

San Sebastian Spain is only 44km from Biarritz France, a huge surfing community with everything available... get a French visa... lots of world class breaks between the two.

Here's a shot of my favorite break in France... somewhere between the two

Awesome trip... have a blast!
