She was on the wave under the power of the wave when he paddled. From what I know the wave was hers. But shows she is curteous as she gave it to him anyway.

Yep, she even looks twice at the goober to make sure he wasn't going for it - then he turns around at the last minute after she is dropping down the face.

its a hard one to call. kristi was on the wave first, but the sb er was inside closer to the action. kristi has an advantage with paddle power.
we get this situation all the time at the alley.

at times on the 12'6 i could have done 3 or 4 turns and been riding for a 100 ms, then someone just grabs it on the inside. i'll try to fad them a bit but if they get it i generally ride it for a touch more than get off.

it not worth the grief and i'll get plenty more anywy
cheers

Just because you can "SNAKE" every wave does'nt mean you should either.I teach people this all the time[}:)].The waves are there for everyone to share no matter what you are riding.....

Doggie if you go to OG you will get dropped in on 50 times an hour it just happens as its KOOK central no one cares, actually you expect it!

Kristi was well and truely on the wave before the other surfer took off and she did look at least twice. The reason she pulled of the back is OG is a fat sluggish slow wave and hard for a shortboarder to catch, he actually got onto the wave and riding so being curteous she pulled of the back, she does it all the time.

If my kids drop in on someone they know they have to paddle over and appologize, its a family rule.

Unless Kristi is in comp mode she always shares waves with everyone ask the interstate crew who know her.

Its OG Main Beach with straight handers not Winki or Bells and every beginner on the coast party waves there.

If Kristi wanted to burn people she could do a stellar job, she just isnt like that!

Way too serious, where did the fun go?

This is only 2 minutes out of a 5 hour session, in which I got snaked by that guy more times than a reptile house! All I can say is OG isn't anything thing to fight over and if it's someone else's wave then I'll pull off - it's not a SUP thing, just a respect thing

Kristi

Tbh Kristi I wasnt having a go at you. The video shows the guy on the inside and yea you caught the wave from further out than him. I guess if he had been snaking you I would do the same thing. Infact last weekend I was surfing a nice beachbreak and there was a couple of longboarders doing their best to take every wave and one of them dropped in on me. No biggie but I hadnt had a wave at this stage except for that one. So next wave his mate paddles for the wave Im going for so I blatently dropped him. I wasnt going to get one if I didnt do that.

Im not saying what I did was right but hey at the end of the day share and share alike

Good vid by the way, top stuff keep it up

I beg to differ, I think Kristi made the right decision there. He was sitting there waiting,
deeper because he has to be. I'd do the same as Kristi every time.

edit...Sure it is OG and not Winki but rules should be the same everywhere. That guy
might only get one day off a week and have to drive 2 hours to get there and his ability
means OG is his favorite wave?

Good surfing and good work Kristi!

Some good points there, however how would anyone know he has driven 2 hours for his once a week surf.Judging from the video's posted of OG,it appears to be a mellow wave suited for Mal and Sup riders and we all know the deal with using the wrong equipment = less waves. The guy was on the inside so its his wave right?
No, Kristi was up first so its her wave? Kristi did the right thing and let the shortie have it because he spent most of his time floating around where Kristi's wave count would have been huge.If I was the guy on the shortie I would have thanked her for letting one go.

Finally, somebody has said it!!!

By the way the guy did snake her, she was well and truly surfing the wave when he took off, not just paddling in early and wide out on the shoulder. But, she was nice and let him have it, probably didn't give it much of a second thought. The shortboarder probably didn't think about it too much either, but it's good to see all guys on this forum making an issue out if it!
